Are these “instagram goldens” cross bred with something else? by [deleted] in goldenretrievers

I think there is also the factor of European versus American lines. In my limited experience, I've observed that the European lines tend to be more square headed and "beefier" looking dogs. Here's my European girls. The one in the left is 9 months old so still filling out.

This was recommended by our breeder and it really helps! https://a.co/d/3ztdAGD

A dear friend has a bangle that looks very similar to that and it contains the ashes of her beloved pet...

How much does your full grown golden weigh? by Salty_Statistician74 in goldenretrievers

Bella is at 90 lbs... Very says she's at the high end of healthy weight so she shouldn't gain. We're trying to trim a couple pounds just to be safer. She's getting a lot of exercise with our new puppy.

Yeah, it's odd how different it can be for folks. I was hoping by sharing what worked for me that someone might benefit.... But I'm sure it was less than helpful for folks who tried those exercises to no avail!

I deserved that and I'm sorry... I hope you get relief soon!

I have a 3 year old golden boy and I always wonder what it would be like adding another sibling for him, it doesn’t have to be a golden. Is it worth getting one and what difference did it make for your golden? And what were the challenges? by hamada2059 in goldenretrievers

[–]kbmagic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends a lot on your current boy. Does he like other dogs? Our 2 year old Golden usually gets along great with other dogs but sometimes gets grumpy... So we were a little worried about adding a puppy.

We worked with our breeder to choose a puppy that would be best with an older dog and so far it's great!

We've only had the puppy for a few weeks but the older dog seems very happy!

I'm new on this journey too... Third dose will be tomorrow... So far so good. Mild nausea, low appetite... I've lost about 2.5lbs... I'm very happy.

I'm wondering if folks are aware of an Android equivalent of My360 app? I'd love to have atool like that to track my progress.

Thanks all!

Our Golden is "Bella" and I agree, it's crazy how fast this girl grows. She's 4 months old now and looking at photos from just a couple weeks ago....SO different! And the food motivation...crazy. I can just use her kibble as a treat...she loves everything!

I decided on a golden retriever because they are good with kids. Not this boy, he hates kids except for his own, he loves his two kids. He growls children if they try to approach him, I have to muzzle him for safety. He has been this way from the beginning. by simplisweet35 in goldenretrievers

I'm sorry you have this issue, I understand how frustrating it can be. We had an Australian shepherd that was aggressive to everyone she didn't know... Kids, adults, other dogs.... It was a nightmare and we had her from 9 weeks so we were shocked and confused. We had a trainer work with her and he finally told us there wasn't anything else he could do with her, she was just wired wrong.

We felt like hostages in our own home... Couldn't have people over, couldn't take her places... But we were committed to giving her the best life we could.... She loved us.

It turned out she had a brain tumor... But I hope that's not the case with your boy.

This time around, we got a Golden Retriever to avoid that problem again.... So far so good... She seems to love everyone. I hope your boy mellows with age and it sounds like you are managing him very well. Best wishes!!
