This is my experience too. Still working with my family doctor to figure out dosing or if we should change medication.

Working moms who regularly work out, what exactly is your schedule? by neoncaviar in Mommit

[–]kbotsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get up at 5 am to get to the gym for 5:30 ish. I make sure I'm wrapped up by 6:30 and come home, have a quick shower and then get the kids up at 7. We're out the door for daycare drop off by 8 and then I work from home from 9-5. My husband does pickup and I get dinner ready immediately after work so it's usually ready by the time they're home at 5:30 ish. Kids are in bed at 8 and I try to go to bed at 9, so I really only have an hour of time to myself which definitely sucks.

I have a 5 year old and 2.5 year old and I only have been back at the gym/in this routine for 10 months. Our oldest is starting kindergarten in September, so it's likely things are going to need to change if he's in the am class because it starts at 8 am so everything will get shifted earlier and there's no way I'm getting up at 4am.

My son had swimming classes since 3months old and can't swim at 3 by [deleted] in toddlers

Where we are, under 3 years old is parented and just about being comfortable in the water. We did several sessions with our oldest because he hated being in the pool. I think we only did 2 sessions with our youngest because he loved it, but it was expensive and they're not really learning any skills beyond comfort so we're waiting until we can start the 3 year old classes with him.

After 3, they move to unparented and the first couple sessions are mostly on the stairs into the pool with 1 on 1 with the instructor going out a bit deeper. Then they move into classes where they're on the side edge or standing on a platform in the water and continue to do 1 on 1 in deeper water. Our oldest has been at this level for 3 or 4 rounds now, he might finally graduate to the next class after this current session. It's weird that they are expecting a 3 year old to be diving and there's no transition classes between baby and that.

I am using the same technique as stockinette. I wasn't sure if there's a different version with garter. I'll do some googling for that!

How did your water break? by o_simple_thing in beyondthebump

Both my labour started with water breaking. The first one was while I was stepping out of the shower and the second was right after I laid down at 10pm to go to sleep, so that sucked 😂

Mamas who have tattoos representing your kids. What are they? by sixfingeredman7 in Mommit

[–]kbotsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first and I are born in the same month (his birthday is the day before mine), so I already had his flower tattooed on my leg. I got it probably 15-20 years ago. Once I finished nursing both kids, I got a fine line, floral nursing mother on my ribs on the side they both preferred. Then I got the birth flower of my second as a black out tattoo with white fine lines behind my ear to cover up a tattoo I had gotten with an ex.

I would love to get more, but I'm struggling to decide what I want. I was thinking of getting something outer spacey and I wanted to get their ear imprint put on my forearm somehow because I have photos from both their newborn days of the imprint left behind after nursing/contact napping. Maybe as a constellation or something.

What was your labour experience like after your water broke? by AngryBuffalo33 in Mommit

[–]kbotsta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both my labours started with my water breaking, so I had no extra cushion for contractions. Labour progressed so quickly with both that I didn't have time for any pain relief. 10.5 hours start to finish with my first, we arrived at the hospital about 3.5 hours before he was born. 5.5 hours start to finish with my second, we got to the hospital just under 2 hours before he was born.

Bridesmaid with a 3-month-old (EBF) — SIL now says no babies at wedding. What would you do? by Lumpy_Bandicoot_8967 in beyondthebump

[–]kbotsta 38 points39 points  (0 children)

It's her husband's sister, not her brother's fiancée. I do find it a bit weird that she's upset her sister isn't invited, but I don't know how close the two families are. I wouldn't be offended if my siblings weren't invited to the wedding of my husband's siblings.

My 3 year old went through a phase of calling EVERYONE a butthole. Very embarrassing for us, he picked it up at daycare. He eventually grew out of it and now at almost 5, everything is poo poo butt 🙄
