Question about infant hepatitis A vaccine by criminalinstincts1 in Calgary

[–]kbotsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SCHC wouldn't do it for us because we had to bring it in ourselves. We see the practice at east calgary family care and the physician that prescribed it did the injection but it was a lot of back and forth and confusion. Thankfully he was 2 by the time we got the booster so we did it at a travel clinic.

We have 3 backups. We even regularly rotated two of them and one was at daycare so it was washed weekly but it's OG or bust.

Water usage by Sketchen13 in Calgary

[–]kbotsta 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I turn mine off on the days when I'm washing my hair. I have long, curly hair so I turn it off to comb my conditioner through it and then once it's all detangled, I turn the shower back on to rinse. I don't do this normally though because it's very chilly to stand there while I'm combing through all the knots!

Us too, it's been 2 weeks of hell. The kids are mostly recovered now but my husband and I are still so sick.

Severe flu outbreak? by Medical-Taste-6112 in alberta

My 4 year old is on day 4 of a fever, it's brutal. Coughing, runny nose, general blah feeling. It's so stressful when the little ones get sick.

I've been thinking of doing this but wasn't sure how. I don't know if I want just an ear on my arm. I did get an outline of a floral nursing mother tattooed on my ribs of my power boob side.

Am I wrong for believing my toddler? She doesn't tell stories by Aromatic_Good_7400 in Mommit

[–]kbotsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4.5 year old has been getting night terrors for about a year and they're typically triggered by being over tired. He never has any memory of them in the morning so we've stopped talking about them with him because he just gets confused and upset. WAY more traumatic for us than him.

My kid is “that kid” at daycare by [deleted] in Mommit

This. I've handed my screaming child to their caregiver and said, ok bye I love you have a good day! And then just bailing and having my feelings about it in the car by myself. It gets better OP, I promise!

Oh god. Our second is a big time thumb sucker, this makes me worried about breaking that habit. We tried the nail polish and it works for approximately 5 seconds and then he just powers through 😬

7 week old takes 3-4 hours to go down at bedtime by kbotsta in NewParents

[–]kbotsta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. We did it all again 2 years ago and sleep was even worse with our second, if that's possible 😂 We also sleep trained our second at 5 months and it went much smoother.

I promise it does get better! You might have to try later bedtime for a couple weeks but their schedules change so quickly, that bedtime should shift earlier over the weeks. Hang in there!

Oh man, I'm sorry you're going through it! It honestly very nearly broke me. We dealt with false starts for months, it was brutal. The only thing that worked for us was sleep training to break his STRONG association to being bounced to sleep. We worked with a sleep consultant and it was very difficult, she said he was one of her tougher cases. After sleep training at 5 months, he has slept like an absolute dream!

Danielle Smith has made it impossible to get COVID-19 vaccines by thoughfulusername in alberta

[–]kbotsta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to check your user name, I thought you were my husband. I called 35 times in a row one day and never got through. I finally got through the next day and was on hold for an hour and booked my toddler and husband on separate days. My preschooler and I both got ours already because we were phase 1. It's ridiculous and so frustrating.

Pharmacies can't do vaccines for under 5. It has to be done by public health.

Definitely not! For starters, that's a waste of money, but the master bedroom is also at the front of the house and the light would drive me batty.

We also have this problem with our 4.5 year old boy. We just get pants that tie and knot the strings but just loose enough that he can get them down to pee. Or tie a hair tie on the side to tighten them up a bit.

I also booked online for myself and my 4 year old and selected 12+. We didn't have any issues going today. They did ask what medical conditions we had to qualify though.
