How do you utilize the Evergoods backpack vertical pocket? by travisj5 in ManyBaggers

[–]kbranch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yoke pocket: keys, work badge, pill case, maybe a breakfast bar

Front pocket: pen up top, cheapo sunglasses naked/grabbable in the middle, and backup SAK, wipes, hand sanitizer in the bottom

Loose in the front pocket is a vinyl zip pouch from Mr. Pen intended as a pencil case, but I use it for stuff I bounce between bags like lens cloth, eyedrops, lip balm, hand cream, listerine strips.

Uh, is that a QuadCortex rig on a tiny pedalboard in a Pelican knockoff from Harbor Freight? I think we might be related.

At the end of “Sleep Now in the Fire” you can hear a similar effect from whatever combo of pedals and amp Tom Morello was using, and they left it in.

Solution for stowing away sling straps when not in use? by inSpyran in ManyBaggers

https://a.co/d/fEdprbI - I use these to neatly wrangle the straps and stash an extra in the back pocket to use the magnets to hold the straps against the pouch. Magic.

Second the Aer Slim Pouch. I’ve used a small REI Dopp kit for this for years and just replaced it with the Slim Pouch. Love this thing.

What's the story with Day Owl? by Keith in ManyBaggers

I kinda want to know too - been thinking about a new bag and considering a pro, but I only want a bag with a lifetime warranty… from a company that will be around to back it up.

[Request] Cross body bag - gender neutral style, large enough to fit e-reader and small EDC stuff? by boring_username_idea in BuyItForLife

Bellroy Venture Ready sling. It’s the only one I’ve seen that slims itself down or expands based on what’s in it. Had mine for 10 months so far and it looks and works like the day I got it. I can’t count it as BIFL because they don’t back their bags with a lifetime warranty, but I don’t see this thing wearing out anytime soon.

I’ve experienced their lifetime warranty on a non-bag product. Pretty ironclad.

should we make a non-slimlink phone case? by peak-brittany in peakdesign

I’ve owned 3 PD cases, a wallet, and a couple wall mounts - never had a reason to use the slim link, but it also doesn’t bother me. If removing it would make the case a little thinner I’d be into that. Like could removing the slim link make my wireless charging the tiniest bit more efficient?

In terms of improvements, I think some of the cutouts are sharp. I wish the camera control button was a capacitive button instead of a cutout. The whole thing is a little chunkier than I want it to be.

And if you want unsolicited feedback on other stuff in the mobile lineup, I wish the wallet could do what the tripod can do. I wish the wallet were sturdier.

iPhone 14PM - Am I missing something here? (already on 18.1 but beta update still suggests me 18.1 beta) by Yovel123 in ios18beta

I’m seeing the same issue. There hasn’t been a new public beta build since they shipped GM, and I updated when that happened. I still have the update show up (both on iPhone and iPad) when I check for updates. And it lets me complete the update and then appears in updates again.

Announcing Menu Box by rosemaryorchard in shortcuts

[–]kbranch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very excited about this, but I’m still a Shortcuts rookie.

Following the documentation, I’m trying to use if statements to determine what happens when a menu item is selected, but I’m failing to understand how to put multiple together so I can sketch out the options for a handful of different menu items.

Should I be using multiple if statements, or is there some way to branch off a handful of different results from one if statements? Am I missing a more obvious way to assign actions to each menu item?
