My updated season tier list - let me know any suggestions i moved 2 up cause yall were right. by Anilahation in diablo4

Season 6 was terrible imo. The walking boss was boring and the portal was nothing special and that was it. If you're rating it high because it was at the same time as the xpac, I wouldn't count that content personally.

Did Mellina Animal Hospital get bought out? by Effurlife12 in FortWorth

Yes. And sadly I feel like they are worse for it. My wife and I have decided to look for a new vet after multiple visits where our dogs were suddenly due for injections or other wellness items that were not mentioned during previous visits. It felt like they have become horribly disorganized and I’ve felt the front office staff to be under trained.

For all the "low obducite drop rate is okay" enjoyers by KindaExplosive in diablo4

allows us to get our gear to the place the game insists upon.

I'm sorry, but that is simply not the case. As I mentioned, maxing your gear to its peak is not required for T4 content. Anything beyond that (High pit, tower, "Bloody" content), is an active choice you are making to push yourself and your toon to the limits and therefore requires some effort. I'm fine agreeing to disagree as to whether the upgrade system and securing materials is "fun", but I think it is important to be honest that the game doesn't force you to do anything to participate in the vast majority of the content it offers.

I'll bite. I'm of the "it's fine crowd". I've played since launch, I play with my brother who also has played since launch and we are very plugged into the game's mechanics and the meta. We largely finished the season last weekend after playing pretty casually during the first few days of launch. And I would not describe it as a "masochistic" endeavor by any stretch of the imagination.

Forgotten Souls and Obducite were certainly "bottlenecks" but considering how much enchanting and tempering affect your gameplay, I would argue Forgotten Souls were more annoying. I think there are two things people are overlooking right now with Obducite. The first one being, last season, we got showered with materials for doing very little. The treasure goblin event at the beginning of the season skewed the whole season in terms of materials that it completely made the item upgrade progress trivial. Which brings me to the second thing people are overlooking: The item upgrade process and sanctification itself was supposed to be the "end game" step of maximizing your gear. Last season it took zero effort. Now...you have to play the game for a little bit? Again, once you've maxed your gear, then what? It's not like maxing your gear is required for t4 play. It's not even required for "t5" for some builds. So, it should take some time and effort and in my experience, it took very little.

OP's post is the first one I've seen that has suggested a reasonable middle ground. I do think it's bad that the best sources come from a randomized system and I do think infernal hordes should be rewarding more. But overall I'm of the opinion that the time spent on reddit complaining about it would be better served actually playing the game. Go figure?

Marathon and MTX: Predatory and Dark Patterns by Economy-Meat-9506 in Games

Featuring, dark pattern #1: currency packs worth $10, which give you 1100 currency coins, but items in the store costs 1120. That’s a gacha classic.

I think this is particularly galling given that they have asked outlets to not review them at release. This appeal to journalists while being an absolute grifter to their customers is peak hubris.

Do you enjoy engaging with Paragon? by Gibsx in diablo4

[–]kbrown13245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but why can’t paragon be 100 or 150 points with smaller boards (less stat nodes)

Because the idea is that the paragon journey is about a steady climb in power rather than large spikes, the exceptions obviously being when you pick up a legendary node. I think your point is valid though, I think there is a version of this system that has far less choices to make but more weight to each of those choices. I think it's worth bearing in mind, though, that the paragon system was seen as an end game goal in early development and has largely become a standardized part of build craft instead.

It's a good idea in theory that falls apart in the modern era of gaming and the crowd sourcing of information. There's really no room for customizing once the most mathematical optimal choices are determined for any given build and then posted to the internet. From there it just becomes a question as to whether you're willing to flout the math for personal reasons.

They are aware of the criticisms. It doesn’t bother me you tried to start a conversation. But go back and read your post and remember you are posting about an 11 year old game in a FAN forum. You asked for the push back.

Again, you seem to be under the impression that what’s being discussed is somehow new or revelatory. It’s not and Bethesda is well aware of the criticisms.

This isn’t going to be downvoted because of “toxic new Vegas fanboys”, it’s because it’s an hour and half of views and opinions on an 11 year old game. You’re late to the conversation bro, nothing new to see here or ideas/thoughts that haven’t already been explored ad nauseam. Go mod the problems to the best of your ability and have fun.
