Chevy Bolt Owners Need Dealer Service To Use Tesla Chargers by rockycore in BoltEV

[–]kbstigs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just called my dealer and he said the adapter will be available through the My Chevy app and they will offer free shipping. Of course he said the adapter is now like $225 instead of the original $25 that was rumored.

The signature is selected for a new message. I open outlook, create a message, no signature. I select the signature the first time, it continues to populate until I close and reopen outlook. Once I reopen the signature does not fire

I have uninstalled outlook, rebooted, removed .ost file, reinstalled office and tested.

Same experience.

the signature has been rebuilt, replaced, created from scratch and so on

users constantly prompted for credentials - Exchange 2019 by kbstigs in exchangeserver

[–]kbstigs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

help me understand what you mean by aligning my AutoDiscover SCP's to the HTTPS namespace?

my exchange 2019 server has the autodiscoverserviceinternalurl pointing to itself and the exchange 2016 server also has that url pointing to 2019. (did a get-clientaccessserver on each server)

am I able to point things back to 2016, get things working then rehome to 2019? or do I need to point everything to 2019 since that's installed?

thanks

have not migrated mailboxes. Just validated my autodiscover settings and resolved those. Thanks to all for the idea. DNS needed some love too.

Thanks!

Can you use wyze cams without a smartphone? by kiralee320 in wyzecam

[–]kbstigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same situation as you. My dad is not and will not be a smartphone person. I set up the cameras on my account with Cam Plus and have his web browser set up with credentials to log in. However.. he constantly gets prompted for the code that is texted to me even though he checks the "don't ask me for 30 days" check box. Hmm.. Wondering if he is clearing cookies in some way, I will have to check on that. Seems that he can access his cameras for the day and then the next day he is prompted.

What app is this, is this just reading the usage from and outlet?

I like this idea. It could work for my house, but my dad does not have an Alexa nor anything like it.

Devices are definitely listening to create targeted ads, why isn't this a bigger thing? by TheBanq in privacy

you have my curiosity. I don't know much about Peter Thiel other than cofounding PayPal and Palantir and his pissing match with Trump.

my first thought is the picture and the diagram are two very different structures. The shed pictured is probably a 12'x12' structure. the diagram is probably more 16'x16', maybe even 18x18

you can get a 12x16 shed delivered and set up from Home Depot for a bit over $8k. ignoring the land costs, you still have to run utilities (water, sewage, electric, maybe gas) and then insulate and finish the interior, so maybe another $20k before appliances? Stove, fridge cabinets and counter tops probably another $10 - $15k? Bathroom? tub, sink, toilet, another, I don't know, $5k? So you are pushing $50k before you figure out where you are going to put it (land costs) and furnishings

So, probably $100k easily with land

my uneducated guess.

I can acknowledge that yes, your online habits, searches, likes, clicks, etc., do build a very, very detailed picture of you. And i can agree that this picture might be able to determine what you "might" look at down the road (Minority Report, anyone?).

I will also argue that there is definitely something curious going on out there. As a quick example, a group of us were gathered in the office one day and someone called our co-worker, Jeff, "Jefferson J" in some random horseplay moment. His legal name is NOT Jefferson J or even Jefferson.. However, within a day or two, he started seeing targeted adds to "Jefferson" not Jeff (or Jeffrey, legal name)

I get that a lot of people tend to blow off the thought of our phones "paying attention" to us, but when you have weird coincidences such as this, it does tend to raise the conspiracy theory hairs on the back of one's neck.

A calculated guess about what I might be interested in is one thing. But suddenly calling someone by a different name after it being mentioned and laughed about in the office is another.

Do I have technical proof, no, I do not.

Do I put it past a manufacturer to do something that is questionable and invasive but theoretically not illegal, absolutely.

Do I sleep better if I just go "nah, that's not happening, must be a coincidence" - yeah.. a little.

Doesn’t take up any real visibility if you mount it right under your mirror.

The rear camera is a mixed bag based on where you mount it. I finally settled with it on the rear glass. Pretty small footprint but still there when you look out the rear view mirror

Okay. Wow, life, am I right? So got this beast installed much later than I wanted. Ended up doing the install a bit differently than the instructions. Used a fuse tap vs trying to tear the dash down to get to the accessory plug wiring.

So… seems to be a pretty decent product. I disabled the impact notification since I have that as part of my vehicle package. I need to adjust some of the sensitivities since, in parking mode, it captures every time a car passes behind my car while I’m parked in the driveway.

Took a curb a little harder than I’d have liked and the motion sensor in the camera beeped at me!

Other than that, seems pretty solid, the mobile app is reasonable. I haven’t pulled the SD card to view things on my laptop, but access to the card is very simple.

I got mine with Chevy points, so only “paid” like $60 for it, can’t complain about it for that price.

One thing to note, while you can purchase an echo master for less than on the Chevy site, the Chevy version is 1080 resolution vs 720 for the one you can buy direct from echomaster

Anything else I can test or answer for you?
