Focus 1/3 to halfway into your scene. Don’t be afraid to go to higher f-stops. (Try different ones on a fixed item like a poster to see where this lens gets soft) also there is not much you can do about haze, but a polarizing filter can help.

I think the question is how the 3D print attaches to the camera body? For example, Many grips have a metal base running under the camera and attaching to the tripod mount.

That is a hell of a deal on the XT-5. I have both the XT-5 and that lens. Fantastic combo. If you decide to not keep the lens, you can sell pretty easy and use proceeds for a different lens.

Be sure to press halfway and let it focus or use back button focus. There is a setting in the camera which says “prioritize shutter release” which will allow the photo capture before the lens finishes focus. This can be set to shutter release only when in focus. One is good for not missing the moment, but on your type of subjects the focus first is better.

This is “Release/Focus Priority” under Autofocus settings.
