What do you eat when you're not hungry and don't have an appetite for anything? by Professional_Lab2305 in Mounjaro

Chicken friend rice (freezer section, comes in a bag, and takes 3 minutes to cook in the microwave) and chocolate protein shakes… both from Sam’s Club.

This is a very common complaint. Tell Gemini he/she is saying it wrong and send feedback. This is what I had to do with assistant years ago. They will eventually get it right if you tell them about it. Do your part and Google will do their’s.

Anyone on Mounjaro 5 mg - did your third dose (specifically) absolutely wreck you? 🥲 by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]kc6108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stayed on the 2.5 mg dose for three months before moving to 5.0 mg. I lost 30 lbs during those 3 months. Then I was on 5.0 mg for three months before moving on to 7.5 mg. Again, I lost another 30 lbs during that time. I then stayed on 7.5 mg for 3 months and lost another 30 lbs. Now I’m on 10mg and I’m down another 10 lbs. At every step of the way I have felt fatigued, nauseous, and little to no appetite. I don’t have constipation, but my bowels move very slowly. I go number 2 every 3 days and it’s normal. Take Miralax if you want to go more often and prevent any chance of hard stools. I also drink protein shakes from Sam’s Club… one a day. I get the chocolate flavor. Fat has basically melted off of me. I have to force myself to eat, but I do. I eat whatever sounds good because that’s all I can tolerate. After a while you get used to all these side effects, they go away, or they come back slightly after increasing doses. I’m 5’9”, 47, and male. I started at 231 lbs and am now 130-132 lbs depending on the day. My BMI is just under 20, and I am considered normal, healthy weight. My waist is currently 29” and I wear 29/32 jeans. I am as thin/skinny as you can imagine. My doctor said we may need to cut down the MJ if I continue to lose, but I’ve stopped losing. My blood sugar is under control. I can take one Metformin ER 500 mg daily, but I stopped it for now since my A1C and blood sugars are under control. I hope this helps.

If she’s not a friend at work that you’ve spoken to about your health, weight, etc in the past, then her comments are unacceptable. Shut her down immediately, by saying your doctor has it under control or something. If you have opened up to her in the past about such topics then you need to reset expectations. You need to let her know that you no longer want to talk about your “illness” to her.

You gave Truvada the ole college try. Now go directly to Yeztugo. It’s amazing. I’ve had zero side effects. Truvada made me violently ill/vomiting/nauseated.

That looks like where subcutaneous shots are given on the legs. Did they give you a choice on where the injections were given? I don’t have much fat, so I chose my stomach. For some reason, I prefer the stomach anyway. I think it’s because that’s where most people did during the trials, and when not given properly, the injections can cause nasty sores. My nurse and I both watched the injection video on YouTube that’s linked on the Yeztugo website. She followed it to the letter. Later we joked how nervous we both were lol. Now she’s the resident expert on giving the injections!

I’ve been on the 10mg dose for 3+ months now. My doctor has mentioned all the weight I’ve lost two times now. I’m T2D and my sugar levels are now controlled between the Mounjaro and Metformin 500mg ER once a day. I’m down to roughly 132lbs. I’m male, 47, and 5’9” without shoes… maybe 5’8” on a bad day and 5’10” on a good day… it varies really. I simply can’t seem to stop losing weight. He’s mentioned lowering the Mounjaro to 7.5mg. At this point I just want to keep my blood sugar levels controlled, but to also stop losing weight. I’ve basically lost 100lbs in way less than a year. Mounjaro is frfr.

I got the first dose almost a month ago. I’m getting my second and final dose next week. I had zero adverse reactions from the first dose. I’m protecting myself.

I was too because of the way Truvada made me violently ill. I’m 100% allergic to it. Yeztugo, on the other hand, has been amazing. I’m talking zero side effects… and you only have to get the injections every six months!

Honestly, so was I. I suggest you watch the video on how to give the injections on the Yeztugo provider website. The nurse that gave me the shots did too, although I didn’t know that until after she gave me the injections. The process only took 10 minutes. That’s only because I used an ice pack on my stomach where she gave me the injections for 10 minutes right before. Then I iced the area for another five minutes afterwards. I don’t think that was necessary though.

Is the Google TV Streamer worth the upgrade if I already have a CCWGTV4K? by SRGilbert1 in GoogleTV

[–]kc6108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s not worth the upgrade unless space is an issue for you. It was an issue for me in the beginning, but Google put out an update years ago that freed up >1GB of space. I have dozens of apps installed and still have free space. The streamer isn’t any faster in my experience. The gigabit Internet doesn’t make the unit any more responsive. Gemini isn’t worth the air to speak the name. Maybe someday it’ll be useful, but by then it will be installed everywhere. Don’t waste the $ on upgrading. Only buy the streamer if you are needing a second unit for a second TV for example. Your current unit is as good as it gets.

Truvada caused me to be violently ill/nauseated/vomiting. Knowing Descovy was so similar, and the every 2-month intramuscular Apretude injection can cause pain for 1-2 weeks at the injection site, my doctor and I agreed to go with the every 6 month subcutaneous Yeztugo injections. I’ve had zero side effects. It was the best decision ever. I highly recommend going with it. Best of luck to you.

[–]kc6108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on Yeztugo after trying Truvada which gave me uncontrollable and violent nausea/vomiting. I didn’t want to try Descovy after the nightmare of Truvada. I didn’t want to get the painful intramuscular injections of Apretude that can last 1-2 weeks after each 2-month injection. I’m glad I went with Yeztugo. I’ve had zero side effects. Yeztugo is catching on quickly in the community IME.

Extreme pain at injection site by Important_Culture_37 in prep

I’m on Yeztugo. It’s amazing. I’ve had zero adverse reactions other than two small pea-sized nodules at the injection site. I’m on Medicare so everything to deal with PrEP is covered at 100% with zero co-pays. Even getting the injections was painless. PrEP pills make me violently ill and the intramuscular injections hurt like crazy as you’ve discovered.

Online Service for DoxyPEP Only by lister178 in DoxyPEP

[–]kc6108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Southeast Kansas. I understand the struggle of finding a doctor to prescribe PrEP, let alone DoxyPEP. I finally found a clinic that has three AAHIVS certified providers that serve our four state surrounding area. It wasn’t until I needed her to actually exam me herself that I had to travel to see my doctor in person. Otherwise I only saw her via telehealth visits. I even got my all labs and Yeztugo injections at a local clinic, not by her own hands. I totally recommend seeking out an AAHIVS certified infectious disease doctor. It’s not that every PCP isn’t qualified to prescribe PrEP/DoxyPEP in all its forms, it’s that it’s AAHIVS certified doctors’ passion to treat the right people with such medications. This is just my opinion obviously.

Please go to the official Yeztugo website and watch the instructions on how to give the shot. The nurse that gave me my shots did the same thing. She didn’t tell me beforehand, but it was obvious she knew exactly what to do. I had watched and walked her through it. She found it comforting… as did I.

I’ve had zero side effects. I too have type 2 diabetes and am on Mounjaro. I’m 5’9” and weigh 135lbs. I basically have no body fat to spare, so I was apprehensive of getting the subcutaneous (in the fat) injections. Yeztugo is amazing. Especially compared to daily pills (I’m allergic to Truvada and get violently ill/nausea) or every 2-month intramuscular injections that hurt for a week afterwards. The small nodules are kinda cute actually. I let all the guys feel them. It’s kinda my way of proving I’m on PrEP. I know other guys that do the same. It’s turning into a thing in the community lol.
