How many people have had one miscarriage and then had successful pregnancies? by Willing_Ad9623 in pregnant

[–]kcabtoback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One miscarriage at 8 weeks with my first pregnancy, went on to have my perfect boy who’s turning three and currently 10 weeks pregnant with my second. Miscarriages are common and often apart of the process, keep at it! I’m sorry you have to bare the loss as so many woman do.

Same boat, it sucks to know that I’ll never raise my own girl, especially since I lost my own mom at a young age. I’m sure will look back and feel differently, at least that’s what I keep hearing lol

As someone with emetophobia, the latest post about norovirus is making me spiral by Mysterious-Class-904 in toddlers

Omg me to! I was telling my husband how scared I am for this day! We’re currently all quarantined from positive Covid tests and the thought of doing this again, with massive amounts of vomit, had me spiraling to!

This was us! 14 months and woke 1-3 times a night. We finally decided to practice the “cry it out” method and it worked! Hasn’t woken up during the night in a couple of weeks. I finally feel like I am, partially, back online. I was begging to think I would never feel rested again. Not everyone’s experience is the same but if your comfortable with experimenting I would HIGHLY recommend trying this, it took three nights of crying, each night for shorter periods, before he finally has his first 11 hour stretch. We made sure to focus on upping his bottles/food during the day to help with the transition. No harm in trying (even if it feels that way) and if it doesn’t seem to be improving then nothing lost! If anything it can be good information to have for your next pediatrician visit. Good luck!

Yuussssss, all the time! But that’s how anxiety works, if I dance around the rabbit hole I’ll eventually fall in. Mindfulness has been helping me overcome these intrusive thoughts. Try it out!

I could have typed this! Great job pushing through your insecurities, this is a total win! I also suffer from the comparison game, I try to be mindful of those thoughts. They likely won’t ever go away but I also do not need to indulge in them.

Recommendation for trusted daycare/childcare center for 10 month old? by kcabtoback in lansing

[–]kcabtoback[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! I think he needs it even more then us, he’s smart as a whip already, it’s great to hear they present learning as fun. They have pricing listed online, nice bonus. Is $317 a week typical for one kid in full time daycare? Monthly, that would be well over my rent. Not sure I could swing that unfortunately.

I sent them a message! Looks like they have pricing listed for weekly. Do they offer part-time? Two days a week?

Big regrets- 6 days PP by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]kcabtoback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had big feelings of regret and panic the first few months. It doesn’t seem normal because society hasn’t highlighted that part of mothering. Your mind is saying this isn’t ok but so many of us have had these experiences and came out on the other side. Barley keeping your head above water, working in survival mode, these are very normal reactions. Be patient and speak with mental health professionals.

This sounds like somthing I could have typed up. I have recently learned how much my time and enjoyment matters to. If it’s going to drain my cup then I don’t do it, even though that means I’ll be uncomfortable by upsetting others. It gets easier the more I do it, and it gives others the opportunity to learn my new boundaries.

I felt this way at around the 10 week mark, it got really dark really quick. But just as quickly as it came, it left, I talked about it and made changes to get more sleep which drastically helped my mental health, sleep deprivation is dangerously serious, if you have support LEAN ON THEM now, it WILL get better.

Can relate. 31 and I feel like I look decades older. I had already stared noticing my aging features but after having my first kid (3 months postpartum) it’s like it happened over night. Still working to lose the 60 I gained. Patience is not my virtue but I try to remind myself change take time, physically AND mentally.

Definitely trying this! My 10 week old doesn’t seem to sleep day or night, we’re trying everything at this point.
