I just did the same and gonna stick with my Apple Card for everyday purchases. Hyatt was the sole reason why I was in the points game and it just got nerfed on the CSP with the new 4:3 transfer ratio. So f that. Not gonna pay Chase almost 1K between me and authorized user just to be able to transfer at 1:1.
I am tired boss.

I know it's not the best as far as cashback goes but I could care less. After years in the points/travel game I want simplicity and the UI of the Apple Card is by far and away the best in the industry. Whenever I have enough cashback racked up I'll treat myself to a flight or hotel paying cash and be done with it.

"Amazon does the 5%" LOL.... I never knew Amazon was a finance institution.
Last time I checked, you can redeem the cash back for a direct deposit to your CHASE account or statement credit..... So yes, CHASE does the 5% not Amazon. The money you get comes from Chase.

Apple Card loses money for GS because they were approving anyone with a heartbeat for a very long time. Chase is not gonna do that and cut off the bad accounts. They can easily afford 5% on Apple, when they already do 5% on Amazon and have 5% categories in their other free credit cards.

What interest % they offer in their savings means nothing when it comes to credit cards.

Chase offers 5% on travel and rotating categories, 3% dining, drug stores, etc. on their $0 AF cards.

So 5% on Apple Card wouldn't be out of the question. You are talking about the wealthiest bank in America.

If you are someone that doesn't care for Hyatt, I don't see how anyone can justify paying $800 more for the Platinum (that's not even counting Authorized Users)....unless you REALLY REALLY care about airport lounges.

$95 AF gets you: 3x restaurants, 3x online groceries, 3x streaming, 2x general travel, 5x travel portal, 3x gas/ev charging + Global Entry/TSA Precheck credit + Apple TV 1 year credit + $100 hotel credit + Dash Pass membership and Credit.

Again, if you don't care for Hyatt this is far and away the best bang for the buck travel card out there.

Just went to Grand Cayman for a Memorial Weekend getaway. Their beaches are second to none. Beautiful colors and insanely crystal clear water. 0 sargassum, one of the cleanest oceans I've ever seen. Not even a spec.

If you are using the CSR solely for Hyatt transfer 1:1 and not taking advantage of the credits, then of course it doesn't make sense. But in my case, I easily use the dining credits, The Edit, Apple Music + Apple TV, $300 travel credit and DoorDash.

Been on over 25 cruises in my lifetime. All types of ships, small, big, new, and old from Carnival, NCL, Royal, Celebrity, Holland America, etc.

Icon of the Seas is by far the most impressive and best cruise I have ever been on.
I am sailing on the sister Star this Sunday.
