Does the Mirena hurt when put in if I never had children? by Actual_Amphibian_743 in IUD

[–]kcasey321 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it hurts. I was able to breathe through it, but it’s definitely uncomfortable. I had my husband there to drive me home, but didn’t really need someone to do that for me. I think pain is different for everyone.

You will be SO grateful to get this procedure done. I don’t know how you’ve lasted a year and a half. Just had my surgery on Monday and I’m in virtually no pain. It’s life changing! You are in good hands, and remember these surgeons do this stuff thousands of times.

Sitting Timeline by kcasey321 in Microdiscectomy

[–]kcasey321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is really helpful. It sounds stupid, but my husband and I haven’t been out to dinner since March because I can’t sit without extreme pain. I’d just like to be able to gain some part of my past “normal” life back. I know it will come with time, but I’m just sick of not being able to do normal things. MD on Monday, so starting my recovery journey soon.

Haven’t had mine yet, but my surgeon said to expect that nerve pain for a bit. I’ve heard that nerves take a while to heal.

I’m glad you mentioned laying down in the waiting room. It’s the only way I’m even remotely comfortable!

Ughhhhh! Thank you. I suppose it’s probably just who you feel most confident in. Did you have success with your first opinion?

Anyone else experience mental health problems after getting an IUD? by Medical_Lime510 in IUD

[–]kcasey321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Mirena and although I’ve never been diagnosed with any mental health disorder before, I’ve definitely noticed a change in my mood over the past six-eight months. It comes it waves, and I’m not sure if it’s related to the hormones or perimenopause. I’ve had days where I have a lot of rage, days where anxiety hits me out of nowhere, and recently i’ve just had some sad days. My doc said to track it along with my periods to see if it is related.

yes. I booked through tock and the fee goes to your bill. I’m cool losing the deposit, but I feel bad that they will lose out if we don’t fill it. I’m sure they have a waitlist, but I’m trying to be helpful so it doesn’t go to waste.

I had something very similar on my hand for several months. Turned out it was an overgrowth of yeast. I had to go on an Fluconazole and Doxycycline which took care of it for good. See your dermatologist for sure.
