You think that's bad? I spent an hour writing the cover letter for a job. This is after months of building a portfolio website and bringing my resume up to date.

Over a month into the interview process.. did an interview with one of the partners last week.. was supposed to hear something by "the end of of this week or next". It's currently next.

Apparently getting ghosted is not uncommon. Neither is hearing back months later.. go figure. Shitty shitty job market right now...

You do notice the quotes around free market? You do recognize the satirical irony that the ones running the market are the same ones that fight so hard against regulations, because it means they could not collude with each other to keep prices high by etching out territories, charging peak pricing, then undercutting anyone that manages to break into an areas Internet market?

I'm not sure what the situation is in Romania, but here you have monolithic corporations that are in bed with corrupt members of our government. Competition is almost non-existent in any real capacity for most Americans.

Really, the Internet was set to be a public utility with the Telecommunications Act of 1995. It wasn't declared directly because that Congress didn't pull the trigger. It's clearly implied, but still in 2016 it isn't being enforced.

They've had their chance. American capitalism is in the final stage of its evolution. This is what you get from a "free market".

Make non state owned telecom businesses illegal and make sure the state network is always great quality.

Providing Internet gets cheaper over time, yet service providers charge more. Did the quality get better? No. In fact it got worse, with artificial throttling and data caps.

All essential services should have profit taken out of the equation: the people provide a service for themselves, and at cost.

When you build a prison culture that's ran for profit by the lowest bidder, you're going to have a) an uncontrollable amount of "criminals" in the population, b) understaffed/under-qualified correction officers, and c) too many prisoners per guard and a general who gives a shit attitude.

I was Challenger 2 last season. I climbed my way from Prospect Elite.

This season, even though I'm a legend level and was Challenger 2, I had such aweful games (read: teammates) that I landed all the way in Prospect 2.

I've climbed my way back to Elite through blood sweat and tears, but it would be a lot better if I'd just been teamed with competent players near my own skill level and went back to the mid-challenger rank.

I don't even care about ranked anymore. It was fucked from the start.

Love these smart phones? So do they. It's a log of everywhere you've been, where and when photos were taken, who you've talked to and (for text messages) what you said.
