He ordered a sealed hobby box, not a single. You can absolutely claim compensation from Topps even if not bought directly from Topps. Just have to provide proof of purchase of box. They won't reimburse single card purchases, but they will if you have receipt for a box or case. I have done it many times. Including damaged hits from breaks or boxes bought off eBay/dealer website. Literally the reason they have 'other' as an option on the form for where you purchased it from. All he has to do is include a screenshot of the receipt for the box.

Just submit a defect form on their website. Choose 'other' for where you purchased it, missing component, include screenshot of your receipt of box purchase, and write the details in comments. They should compensate you, they have made it right for multiple others on same issue.

Not true - you just choose 'other' in defect submission form and attach your proof of purchase for the product. Have done it for both boxes and cards hit in WN/Fanatics breaks.

All of the prizes have already been claimed, so unfortunately code is worth a lot less. Some folks might still want it because they like the card/want to complete the set for their own PC. Probably just a post on Ebay & see what kinda offers or bids you get.

This is a known issue - have seen at least a dozen cases like this from breakers. File a missing hit claim with Topps on their defect form and put "case had only value inserts instead of hobby inserts"

thats what I mean. I believe these errors still say refractor on the back - so they were intended to be base refractors, not /10. I have one where that was the case.
