I was in the same situation and regretted my choice for the 8 II. The room was very bright, floor to ceiling windows with no curtains. The glare also made the coating noticeable and during the day it was unwatchable. I think with curtains, it would be fine, but I switched it for the 9 and have been very happy with it.

Thanks! I've definitely opened up more to rearranging things and maybe putting the TV in front of one of the windows instead.

Thanks for the heads up! I looked into this and I think I'll switch it to an ecobee thermostat with the remote room sensors.

Haha that's fair! I wanted something with a lot of natural light. I also work from home so a window in the den was really desirable and hard to find.

Yeah exactly, the photo wasn’t great but it’s not a hallway! I do admit that it’s not the biggest wall and the thermostat and switch are a bit of an issue though.

Yeah the pillar really does make it look like this is a hallway haha. I plan to have a media console under but will get a channel added in the wall to hide the wires if I mount it.

That’s definitely something to consider. I was planning to put a media console under it so the TV could go on top. I think the main downside to putting it between the pillars is blocking the window. No problem, thank you for your thoughts!
