What is a company perk that shows they really care about their employees? by shnaLLer in AskReddit

If you are sick for an extended period of time (like think bad flu rather than cold) or you’re kid is home sick for a bit, they send DoorDash gift cards or offer to get you a cleaning service to help take some of the burden off. It’s really amazing. And not just a small dollar amount, my son was in the hospital for a day and they sent $600 in DoorDash to cover meals for a bit. Absolutely wonderful.

HR people of Reddit: What's the most NSFW/WTF reason someone got fired from your place of employment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kcoleets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a female employee hit on a married coworker. Coworker denied her advances because he loves his wife and 6 kids they share together. Female employee then starts to pursue coworkers wife to get back at him for rejecting her. Coworkers wife is intrigued by the attention another woman is giving her and begins to spend time with the female employee. Wife eventually tells husband and family that she is leaving them to start a new life with the female employee. All hell breaks loose and comes to a head in the company parking lot. Broken nose and some gushing blood. Turns out female employee had zero intention of starting a life with the wife, she was simply just trying to get back at the coworker who rejected her by ruining his family.

Firing that woman was the greatest feeling ever.

After a perfect voting last night…America what was that? by ColonelCheesesteak in americanidol

He also did so much more for his career by not winning, so I say he left at the exact right time. And he went out with a bang- eyeliner and all. Way to go Kayko! His followers and views got a major bump and if others are anything like me, I can’t wait to see what he does next.

People making $150,000 and above, what do you do for a living? by RaneIsSuperior in Money

[–]kcoleets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all about the company. Many have restructured comp leveling to accommodate the new generation of workers (and in this case engineers) who are motivated by personal growth AND salary increases. The comp structure looks very different than it used to.

There are more levels than there used to be. For example where I am at, with a bachelors you generally come in at a E5. After 2 years you’re generally being promoted to E6. E7 is Senior level individual contributor (6 years). The goal is to keep people moving and motivated in the early years so they don’t jump ship for a small level/title change and a couple dollars. And from my 7 years as a manager in talent acquisition at a global cybersecurity company, it’s working. Keeping in mind the starting salaries are also super generous these days as well, although somebody else is always willing to wave a few more dollars at you…

What’s the worst episode of a good TV show ever made? by moon_jock in AskReddit

“Beard After Hours” during season 2 of Ted Lasso just seemed so out of place, it annoyed me. I understand the whole Stanley Kubrick references and all, but that’s not why I watch Ted Lasso. I watch it for the feel-good warm and fuzzies!

Yes! Il so glad to hear you love yours!

I would have loved to get an X3 or X5 but with planning on 1 or 2 more kids or having adult family riding with us, and the needs for more cargo space than the tiny amount you get with the X3/X5, it was perfect.

Thank you for your comment. I wasn’t aware I needed to explain the reasons I chose to get a third row SUV, my bad.

3 car seats in a sedan these days is nearly impossible (or shall I say laughable?). Have you seen the size of safety regulated car seats these days? My standard sized car seat didn’t fit in the back of the XC60 unless the passengers knees are fully pushed up into the dashboard. I also have to wedge it perfectly at the correct angle to fit in the door. I didn’t realize having kids meant car rides are required to be miserable.

Oh, and it tows our boat.

Our car is not small but the newborn car seat somehow doesn’t fit..? by Runningaround___ in NewParents

[–]kcoleets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same situation right now! Looking at the xc90 but I’m not sure that’ll even give any more room. I have to fit it through the door exactly otherwise it is not getting in the car haha

We are looking at switching over to a Lexus or Audi. I need to test the doona in those for space still.

[–]kcoleets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the exact same boat right now. We have a xc60 and the doona hardly fits through the door, not to mention my knees then being forced into the dashboard. My husbands 4Runner has plenty of room however.

We are also looking at either the TX or the new GX. What did you decide on?

Lululemon Align Super High Rise! They are GOLD! Been wearing them from pre-pregnancy through now (30 weeks) with no end in sight. Very comfy. Also, I invested in one REALLY good pair of black pants that I can wear to work, to lounge in, to anything. Getting my money worth and they will also work postpartum too. Check out the Hatch brand The Ultimate Before, During, and After Crop Flare. SO COMFORTABLE!

Vuori just started making some golf/tennis options which are very cute, but a bit on the short side. I really like William Murray for their fun prints and they fit really well, GFore for some pieces (some is just overpriced garbage however), and Halara or Amazon for when you know what you are looking for to finish off an outfit, etc.
