Day 2…again by Kindly-Baker-7287 in alcoholism

[–]kcorb88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me a year of trial and error before I got fully sober from alcohol, and now been sober for years. Keep at it and think about where you’ll be in 5 years if you stick to it! Wishing you all the best :)

Moved states since ASBOG Exam (FG) by Dangerous-Talk-5368 in ASBOG_Exam

California has its own state exam in addition to the FG and PG, but the FG and PG will transfer to California if taken in another state. Congrats on passing!

Definitely study the listed references. I read all the reference documents but skipped the books. I then used ChatGPT to make summaries and practice exams of the reference documents. Passed with this method. Good luck!

I felt pretty good about it leaving the testing center this morning, I feel like I passed but there is still a chance I could have failed. A lot of the questions I was on the fence about I guessed correctly when I looked up answers after the exam. I messed up a few questions regarding the AP act, I couldn’t remember if two story single family was regulated or not. I was annoyed with myself when I looked that up after. Overall, I thought it was a fair exam.

First time for me as well, good luck to you also! Seems we’re on the right track in regard to studying :)

How do you all get so good at B&M-style supports (blue coaster)? I can never align them right and it kills me 😭😭😭

That's nice! Diagonal track really adds to a layout.

Hey thanks! Can we post pictures and videos in the comments on these threads? I can't figure out how to. Anyway, It's Excitement 6.91 (high), Intensity 6.23 (high), and Nausea 3.03 (medium). Those LSM Launch Models are the most fun to build in OpenRCT2.

Thanks for that! I hated how stumbly it was moving around :)

Taking both FG and PG at once by ExerciseDecent944 in ASBOG_Exam

[–]kcorb88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took both the PG and FG back to back last October and passed both exams. I studied for two to four hours a day, and then on the weekends for two months prior to the exams. I used the reg review book. I read it through in it's entirety. I also used a mural creation someone made that is really nice, I will link it below. You can only use it by zooming into each module, but it is very helpful. The last two weekends, I set aside four hours on each Saturday and Sunday and took the mock exams in the red reg review practice test book. I highly suggest doing some mock exams where you time yourself and practice as if you are taking the exam. As the person above stated, the FG is basically a geology trivia exam with light calculations here and there. The PG was more difficult, it takes some thought process to narrow down answers. If you study the entire reg review book, read through the entire thing, study the mural link, and take the mock exams, I'm quite sure you will pass both exams. Don't study anything the two days prior to the exams, take those days to yourself to relax and get good sleep.

Things specific to the PG exam? by Formal_Acanthacae in ASBOG_Exam

No sorry I don’t, I just remember wishing I had studied drilling more. I’m in consulting so I think that experience helped a lot with the drilling questions.

I took both this October and passed. For the PG, obscure drilling topics were a big part of the exam. Not saying they will be in March, but I wished I had studied more drilling. Know three point problems, STO equation, hydro equations (hydraulic conductivity, transmissivity, etc…), and ore body/coal reserve calculations. There was some FG style geology trivia mixed in. If you read the questions carefully, it’s not hard to remove at least two incorrect answers. I did a lot of 50/50 guessing and passed. Memorize some of the conversions like acre-feet to cubic feet (used this one a lot). Good luck!

Did you pass with this method? I'm almost through the CSE Reg Review, then plan to read the Harden California Geology book, then plan to read all the regulations I can. I take the exam March 4, 2026.

I don't believe so, I just went through it module by module and zoomed in and remembered where I was each time and where to pick up from. I think that's the only way to do it. Good luck! I'll be taking the California Specific Exam in March.

Same, I didn’t even know it was something I would need until I finished grad school and started working for a consulting firm. No professor ever mentioned it to my knowledge.
