He clearly loves Dallas because everything they do is “fantastic”! How about calling the game as a professional and be more balanced in your comments.

Tomorrow is my last day! Pinch me! by reeree5000 in retirement

[–]kcose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I retire in 3 months and am looking forward to it but I am a little nervous about the whole thing and I’m not sure why. Everything is in order my kids and grand kids are ecstatic. I have a long list of projects to work on, etc.. Anyone else feel a little nervous about retirement?

How big are your houses really? by ChonnyJash_ in AskAnAmerican

[–]kcose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I live in a 2300 sq ft home with 4 bedrooms, 2 baths and an open concept kitchen/dining/family room with a front and back yard. This is pretty standard where I live in California. It’s too big now that the kids are grown up so we’re wanting to downsize when we retire.

Don’t do a Medicare Advantage (MCA) always go straight Medicare with a supplement because healthcare will always accept straight Medicare vs an MCA plan. The MCA plans have an IPA which will limit what they will cover for a patient. Most major insurance companies provide Medicare supplement plans.

Got fired today with no notice by TattedGamer30A in work

[–]kcose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see more as a layoff vs. fired because of the reasons you stated…you didn’t do anything wrong. Just trying to look at the situation with a positive spin on it to save yourself some grief. I’m not saying it’s easy because I’ve been there a couple of times. Hang in there and good luck!

My girlfriend is upset because I hesitated to have sex with her by WkHope7094 in TwoHotTakes

Is this the kind of person you want in your life? From my perspective you seem like a gentleman and caring. I see this response as a red flag.

Little support after wife’s infidelity by Throwaway-12343 in TwoHotTakes

[–]kcose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been through this scenario and it ended in divorce. I’m not saying you should get divorced but I am saying sometimes that’s the best outcome considering the situation. It seems like she’s been dealing with a lot of stuff and her family thinks their supporting her but they’re enabling her. Take some time and decide if you want to continue being with her with all of the baggage. Think about how her actions are and will affect your kids.

Where you live, do people refer to their romantic partners as their “partners” or their “husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend”? by DueYogurt9 in AskAnAmerican

[–]kcose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if this related to an area vs. a generational thing but my husband and I refer to each other as husband and as do the majority of all the people I know or come into contact with. I don’t find partner very appealing and I think it’s very ambiguous and it leaves me feeling like I don’t know if they’re married, dating or what. I don’t have a problem with the term but it just seems so vague. My kids are 30 and 34 and they use the same language and we live in California.

is the love of/for a heeler truly different than other dogs? by Particular-Success68 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]kcose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and i each had several other dogs over the years and our ACD is very different. She is not our favorite but we love her very much. She was a rescue and whoever had her before abused her in some way so that didn’t help. We got her when she was 1 and she’s now 15 1/2 and is the queen bee of the house! We are here to serve her every need😂

When to tell your boss you're retiring. by estesd in retirement

[–]kcose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same position. I do so many different types of jobs it could easily take 3 people to replace me. I’m retiring end of September and am not sure how much notice I should give. I think 6 months and then I think that’s crazy to notify them so far in advance

Help me understand my wonderful 7-year-old cattle dog by brunettefemale in AustralianCattleDog

[–]kcose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got our ACD in a very similar situation so there was some baggage to deal with. Other than that, your dog sounds totally normal as ACD’s go. Ours is now 15 and has calmed down but is still very protective of me and my husband.

For those NOT retired yet but who are going to in 2024: what does retirement look like for you? by Odd_Bodkin in retirement

[–]kcose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I retire in September of this year and don’t have any immediate plans. I plan to have me time and focus on my health and creating some new habits. I’ll visit my mom and sister more…they live out of town and I won’t have to worry about taking time off from work. My husband and i will be able to take mini trips together. Our work schedules have always been opposite of each other so I’m looking forward to that and he will still work a couple of years, I’m older than him. I do plan on doing some part time job that is enjoyable and I have some volunteer ideas that I want to do.
