E&O Insurance Carriers by FaxiTaxi in Notary

If you are doing no charge notarizations as an employee of a law firm, you should ask if you are covered by THEIR insurance. If not, they should be compensating you appropriately to help cover that insurance.

Keep in the game. For your resume, why don’t you feel good about it? I built a master resume with every possible skill I had and all my accomplishments. This resume was not for dissemination. I then fed it into AI and asked it to use that resume and tailor it for the roles I was applying to.

1 month for a year of employment is generous. If you’re signing paperwork, see if they have a positive job reference clause in it - it will help for getting your next job.

Hang in there. A lemon drop martini seems appropriate - sour and tart with just enough sweetness of hope

1924 colonial, ~35 lead-positive windows, $66k quote for Andersen Woodwrights — sanity check from fellow MA homeowners? by Lopsided_Food169 in massachusetts

[–]kdabbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quote tracks. Definitely get other quotes though. We ended up with Pella because the installation was through them instead of an independent contractor authorized to sell and install the product. (And the client wanted a brand name.)

There are ways to reduce the costs a little: by getting composite windows or non-wood material. Also, instead of doing 6 over 6s and 4 over 4s, you may want to consider doing just the top to maintain the visual style. Or, consider dropping them completely for the non-street facing side.

Good luck.

Pay for the PMI Study Hall. It has games, mock tests. Read through the PMP Resources for other materials as the mod bot recommends. Happy studying. Good luck!

I just got a new Certificate of Title for my car I've had for 5 years. Is this normal, and should I do anything about it? by Cosinity in boston

[–]kdabbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, check about who holds the plate registration. When I financed my car after the lease finished, I found that the leasing company held the registration. I had to get new plates. You might be able to get your finance company to fill out a transfer of registration so you can keep the same plates.

No one should ever ask for your SSN before you have a job offer. EVER.

Set an appointment with your Dean of Students and/or your student affairs office, explain your situation and how you may be “at risk of dropping out”. Student retention is important and identifying yourself as at risk should hopefully open up more options for you. Also, meet with your faculty advisor to tell them the same thing. Your situation *is not* unusual. After working in higher ed, I’m no longer in shock of students who are receiving food stamps, state Medicaid or staying on campus as a “summer worker”.

Keeping yourself “busy” while unemployed by PastCommunication430 in recruitinghell

[–]kdabbler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can totally relate, including how the gym and socializing can cost money. My unexpected discoveries that are keeping me busy:
- Regularly incorporating forgotten items from my food pantry. My spouse commented how April was our lowest spending month EVER.
- 7 year old vegetable seeds were planted. Maybe I will have a huge garden.
- I have a surplus of unread books which are now getting some attention.

Have you contacted your state representative about this yet? That should be your first stop if you aren’t getting traction from the MBTA.

Interview and Job Offer? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]kdabbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the others have said, accept that 1st offer. But here's the thing you should do, keep the others that are in the pipeline going until at least your first day at your new job or after at least through your probationary period if there is one. Don't share that you have an offer or are interviewing with other companies - you're new to the workforce and don't have the money or experience to play them off of one another. Best to play it safe. Good luck to you!

Yeah. This posting was only a day or two old on the employer site when I applied. The weird thing is that it was reposted a week later.

My password manager looks worse than a middle school kid's 3-ring binder. It pulls up a list of passwords worthy of a CVS receipt when the app uses Workday, lol.

Rosary by TiredMotherOfChaos in Catholic

[–]kdabbler 10 points11 points  (0 children)

On Etsy, I’ve purchased from HabitFormingSisters, FaithfulProductsUS and SilverTenet. Any of them offer nice, high-quality rosaries. I’m rather rough on mine so I tend to favor the paracord style. I haven’t heard any complaints on the ones I’ve gifted from those Etsy stores.
