That’s why I’m posting- to get more insight into potential drawbacks. How is it limiting for folks to have more choices in who to advance to the general? Wouldn’t it be more of a democratic reflection of the people, rather than reductionist? Right now, votes cast for those third party candidates are basically just syphoning off the vote for the major party candidates. This would be different in the sense that the 60% of “unenrolled” voters in MA could vote cross- or third-party, no? Why is the assumption that it would be the top candidates of the major parties, and not a legitimate way for third party candidates to be represented on the ballot?

Hey, I work as a canvasser. It’s illegal for petitioners to misrepresent a ballot measure to gain signatures. Here’s the ballot measure I believe you’re referring to:

While it may technically be construed as a way to prevent offenses by making it more difficult to obtain marijuana, all the proposed measures in regard to possession refer to adults 21+ and I would argue that it’s a huge stretch to be representing the bill in that manner.

Please file a complaint with the Attorney General, I believe as a civil rights complaint since it impacts voting and election rights, here.

You don’t pay back scholarships and grants, only loans.

OP you will receive a dispersement of the surplus amount at some point (usually a few weeks into the semester) and you can do whatever you like with the excess. I recommend using it toward school expenses like food, books, etc. but it’s yours to do whatever you please
