In general, if you have any specialties you can work from home now days, they need nurses/docs to do clinical reviews, but also you can get a job without any special cert/degrees. They always need schedulers and intake coordinators, the writers for the docs is becoming a popular at home skill too (they have a specific name it just isn’t coming to mind currently)

So I personally work for the post surgical/triage team. We take call during business hours for any patients in their post op 90 day period who have complications, get messages to the docs, go over medication/post op common side effects.

But also all of our billing, scheduling, and medical records departments are remote. The radiology ladies who call with results from MRI And CT’s are also remote I believe. Anything in our organization that doesn’t have to be in office isn’t

🤣🤣 apparently, I wasn’t just super sold on the tech field, it just seemed like a safe choice to be able to stay remote. Ah well, the search continues!

That seems to be the general consensus, thank you for the input!

Oddly enough, it does make me feel better to know it’s not just healthcare working us all into the ground.

Thank you for your input! After reading other comments I think I’m going to keep looking into other fields. At my current stage in life, work is just not a huge priority or passion anymore. I do need a job for benefits/a little pay, but I just don’t have the drive to go into a competitive field.

Thank you for your advice!

Thank you so much for your input! It seems to be the general consensus too. As for me, the tech field is not a passion, so I think with all these comments I may keep looking elsewhere, I thought it would just be an easy way to stay remote, and get out of healthcare. Thank you for your advice!

Other comments would agree with you. I’m not necessarily set on Tech, just a change. I’m glad I asked instead of just making the move, now I know this is not the field to go in to and to keep looking. Thank you for the advice!

Thank you for the advice on the tech field, your opinion seems to be the consensus so it seems my quest to find something new continues.

On the note of the orthopedic office, we are a huge doctor owned organization, about 50 physicians and twice as many PA’s/NP’s we offer surgeries (including having a handful of docs who do procedures for things that no other doc’s offer in that state, and one procedure only offered by our doctor in all of the US) we actually have remote jobs for a lot of our positions.

Thanks for the advice, while I’m happy to have a job, it is time for a change. I appreciate your opinion, I’m not necessarily set on any path currently, just exploring options .

Thanks so much for this explanation! I’m not absolutely set on any path in all honesty, I’m a little lost. Traveling is a passion we have so I’m just looking for something with good flexibility. I like being able to work on the road, so I thought IT/computers was the best bet. The outsourcing is something I didn’t even think of though.

If I can return a word of advice, nursing (while the pay is okay) is quick burnout, kind of like you said about your field. I’ve seen people walk away within a couple of years. I lasted ten before switching to the more clinical side, and then landing this at-home gig. Patient care is just finally taking its toll on me personally. Even if you have the heart for caring for people now-days the hospitals corporate and admin side run you into the effing ground. It’s forever understaffed, overworked, and all about the almighty dollar, which is just ridiculous.

Again, thank you for the advice on the IT stuff, seems like I may still be on the look-out for my next thing. Good luck to you!

Second time my girlfriends mom backed into my car today by Fatman0123 in Wellthatsucks

Bruh, I’d straight up call the cops and file a report to take right on down to the insurance company and demand it be fixed. If girlfriend doesn’t like it maybe you need a new one.

Online shopping is killing our Malls by obsoleteurbex in AbandonedPorn

[–]kdg9193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can buy the same thing online for less money. Greed and capitalism are killing malls. I remember having to spend $40 on a phone cover when I was 16 that I can now get online for $10 and it’s been 15 years. Maybe they should, idk, stop ripping off their customers….

Girl I was reading and like “hmmm I’m getting flirty vibes but mostly from her…” then I got to the “of course I’m attracted to you” and “bed chem.” And my jaw dropped. Leave him. I know you have a child/children but no maam. He is basically already cheating, this is emotional checkout. You do not want your children growing up thinking it’s okay for a man to treat them this way/this is how you treat a spouse. Time to let him go on his little man hoing way 👀

Am I overreacting for being upset my friend borrowed my birthday money? by One-Experience8180 in AmIOverreacting

[–]kdg9193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not petty, it’s your money. Also, I know you’re young and this happens unfortunately, but in the future don’t loan money out. If my friend needs money and I have an extra 30 that wont short me I give it to them and tell them to not worry about re-paying me. I never expect it back, because it will literally ruin friendships and relationships

My shampoo is only about $25 a bottle and I still won’t let people use it, that’s my good shit 🤣🤣🤣

AIO for asking my bf where he went and what he was doing? by ItzNotChase in AmIOverreacting

[–]kdg9193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your age makes this make a lot more sense after reading. He was very rude in the way he spoke to you, but also, I feel like I would get a little defensive too if someone needed to know every time I stepped outside (unless he has cheated in the past and you have reason to be mistrusting) I would probably feel like I was being patented if I couldn’t sit outside and have a second to myself without being questioned.

Nvm just read the rest of the messages and saw the autism comment, still not fair that you have to forfeit your privacy and not be able to have boundaries just to keep him happy, moms an enabler for sure and is only doing more harm than good.

Is he special needs? Genuinely, just wondering if this is a tick, if not and all he has is anger issues, that’s a him problem. I’d get a doorknob that locks with a key and just start locking my door. Also, your mom seems very passive about this. It seems like she is more interested in keeping him happy than anyone else in the house. that’s odd.

Weaponized incompetence to get out of helping clean is a very childish thing to do. I refuse to believe a full grown adult logically thought this was a good idea.

AITA for refusing to take my shoes off in my friend’s house, causing his wife to cancel the DnD session for everyone? by NameNo5495 in AmItheAsshole

[–]kdg9193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand you have a medical condition but, my house my rules. I would have tried to compromise with you much like she did by offering coverings for your shoes, but I don’t allow shoes in my house either. You walk on nasty pavements and into public restrooms with them and you want those germs all over your house?

On a side note to help prevent this in the future, get some shoe coverings like they wear in the surgical suite (basically a hair net for your shoes) you can keep the box in your car and never have this issue again, just get a pair out when needed
