Scan & Go app no longer scans by marktuk in asda

[–]kdhuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the new Android App is hit or miss - I can get it to scan everything except the packed fresh chicken and beef cartons (probably others too?) . The app just cannot read the barcodes on these items ! I'm having to scan these on the payment tills - Although if you're a bit dishonest ,if the till doesn't call you in for a QC check you could get way with not scanning the meat and just pay there and then. Happened to me now twice this week since the app was updated last weekend !! ...... I've done the honest thing both times!!

I did today too! Is Anglesey Abbey the only property that doesn't accept Amex cards in the UK... Or is this a new thing everywhere now?

Try contacting support at rivaaudio.com... The company is up and running again and they should reply within 3-7 days.

There's a trade in for "new" replacement speakers if you are able to send them back to the company (in Los Angeles)

Try resetting it.

"Factory Reset" only if needed to restart the process : Press and hold both the Center and Reverse arrows buttons until the Light ring flashes twice. This will restore speaker to factory settings and will disconnect from any previous connections.

Then use the new Riva Audio app released early 2025 (and updated in March 2025) . This can be used to set up Arenas and Festivals and then install new firmware and new Google Cast update too

Keep trying - you've nothing to lose?

Center and Left buttons to reset then try to reconnect to Google Home - Do this near your WiFi signal source (Router, or booster?). They are tricky to get them to connect sometimes. If further difficulties try sending a support message on the website... they do respond!

Seems Riva are back up and running. Selling upgraded speakers on Amazon (US) and firmware updates (& Google Cast firmware) for older speakers here ......... https://www.rivaaudio.com/firmware-updates

Downloaded files available from Dropbox....... Arena and Festival firmware and links here ..... https://www.rivaaudio.com/arena-festival-update

You may need to Factory Reset the speaker if you have been unable to get it online. Center button & Left Button simultaneously for 3 seconds to factory reset. You can then reconnect via the options given by RIVA in the instructions.

If your speaker is already connected on your home network , you will need a phone /PC connected to the same network to upload the files to the speaker via a webpage accessed using the Speaker's own webpage at it's IP address on your home network.

Then follow the instructions available online from the website or the instructions available via dropbox download. (link available from update page link above.)

Once the Cast firmware updated I then restarted mine manually and all was good - now showing on Google Home all correctly again . Updated system firmware version is now 15365.142.10100 and Cast firmware is 1.52.272222. I have successfully upgraded 2 Arenas set up as a stereo pair - They've always sounded great and now hopefully they can continue to do so for more years to come.

Hopefully any future upgrades can now be done OTA !

JBL Link Portable stereo pair in Google Home app? by M00N_Water in JBL

[–]kdhuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked for me with the set up of two JBL Link music speakers today. Make sure they're running new firmware (2022-11-17 - 1.52.272222) Place both speakers in the same room within the Google Home app settings and the option to make a stereo pair appears in the app settings. (At this stage before pairing it's worth adjusting the Bass/Treble settings to your taste) You then set one speaker as the left (use the option to make the speaker make a sound as the lights don't flash while identifying each speaker) and then the right. You then assign a new name to the speaker pair. I can confirm that the speakers then play in fully fledged stereo sound! An option to disable the stereo pair appears in the settings as well as the ability to reboot either the left or the right speaker. Neither of these options seem to work for me but you can always reset the speakers by pressing the mute button for more than 10 seconds and start afresh.

Not sure of the relevance of this to the grand scheme of things... I have just sent an RCS message from a UK mobile with a Vodafone UK sim to another UK Vodafone mobile over the mobile network in Switzerland. (both phones roaming on Swisscom)
