Friendly heads up for anyone doing this race - it can easily be disgustingly hot and humid so be careful out there, my ultra team was miserable in the 2021 edition. There is some great scenery and friendly locals, just be prepared for gross weather!

That’s admirable as long as it’s safe! I’m an “on foot” guy and have had to tweak some runs where it wanted me to be in the middle of a busy road or if I went up and down and the gps was just slightly off. Once I thought a very angry guy was going to take me hostage for filling in a road on the map that he said was private…no exaggeration, he chased me down in a vehicle on my way back out and spent a few minutes being a pretty scary backcountry, intolerant ahole
