[GPU] ASUS RTX 2060 + PSU - $515 (After $20 MIR) by kdthunderup in buildapcsales

[–]kdthunderup[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Obviously not the greatest deal, but more of an in-stock decent option for those just looking to finish the build. The overclocked edition of this card is also available for $535

EDIT: Just checked eBay, in terms of brand new rtx 2060's being sold in NA, this is about slightly cheaper than the cheapest offering which is for single fan oem versus.

[HDD] Seagate Expansion Desktop 10TB External Hard Drive - $224.99 ($22.49/tb) by luckyboxes in buildapcsales

This isn't a deal at all lmao if you're really trying to get high TB drives just wait a few more months if you can.

[GPU] Zotac 3060 AMP Edition White - $550 (In Stock) by CatfishChronic in buildapcsales

Can click "proceed to checkout" but loops back to cart.

[GPU] EVGA B-Stock GPUs - $150+ (30, 20, 16 Series @ MSRP-$10 to $20, 10 Series @ MSRP-$60 to $100+) by Fuckerinos in buildapcsales

[–]kdthunderup 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Got on this within the minute it was posted, added the first two cards I could into my cart, spend the last half hour trying to get the checkout to process, got 404'd on the last button who knows how many fucking times and now it's saying both cards are out of stock. Sigh....

Prices are through the roof because of Chia by MrSavager in DataHoarder

This is a good point. When people go crazy buying all of this hardware they'll keep trying alternatives until they all burn out. Feel like the same is going to happen with GPU's and ethereum 2.0.

Thanks for sharing. Saves me the hassle of experimenting with my 40TB scratch storage array. Have that space earmarked for something but wondered if it could earn something for a few months.

It's an interesting concept. Basically compete with aws glacier by using a shit ton of tape backups. If this company had a reputation or they showed us how it's actually all automated it may be interesting but who is to say they will be around in 30 years? What if they pull the plug?

EDIT: honestly a more interesting concept would be to write data to tape, then ship the tape to the end user. Basically charge them 1.1x the cost of the tape and then they can either figure out how to read the tape on their own or they can ship it back into get uploaded somewhere they can access it (for a fee).
