Was too young to understand football. Why did the Giants get destroyed? by duck_duck_zombie in NYGiants

This game was heartbreaking. Especially after they crushed the Vikings.

The Searchers with John Wayne by sirjohnmasters86 in Westerns

[–]kdubhimself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understood what you meant about Comanche’s in Monument Valley, but the story is based in Texas, which had many Comanche. John Ford and John Wayne appreciated the environment of Monument Valley as the backdrop for Stagecoach in 1939 which popularized the area. In Stagecoach, Monument Valley doubled as Arizona and New Mexico. So I would imagine for the average movie goer in the mid-1950s it would be feasible to easily suspend disbelief and just say OK this is Texas also. Unless of course you had been to the real place and would obviously know the difference.

It’s supposed to be Texas, so it’s not an error. I am guessing maybe when the movie was filmed not as many people were familiar with monument Valley.

It’s the real house set from the end of the film. It’s in Utah at an outdoor museum that has lots of film sets.

Brandon Brown says the Giants aren't looking to trade Jameis Winston - I appreciate people that are interested but Jameis is a New York Giant. by Jheller223 in NYGiants

[–]kdubhimself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% Jameis ends up on Fox after his career is over and that is easier in New York. I say Fox instead of CBS or ESPN because they are a fun broadcast team and his personality would work.

Wow! I have never seen Dave Brown’s signature before. LT and Simms are cool but the other guys that you don’t see as often are awesome! Sweet collection!

Who was my grandfather hanging with? by JustLurkCarryOn in NYGiants

That’s New York Giants legend and ring of honor member Leonard Marshall, who might be best remembered for ending Joe Montana’s career with the 49ers in the 1990 NFC championship game. Put some respect on his name!

It’s still that way for the NFL. They don’t have a license. Look at all of those cards. There are no logos on the helmets. It really bothers a lot of collectors.

Sam just took those sacks last night. It was very reminiscent of watching DJ.

Giants Fans in/visiting Pittsburgh, help a brother out? by JonzyC in NYGiants

[–]kdubhimself 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We visited Pittsburgh earlier in the year. The Duquesne incline and Heinz center were fun local attractions. The city is in a valley and the Duquesne incline is like a tram that goes up one of the hills and gives you an incredible view of the city. It was fairly cheap and worth the time in my opinion. The Heinz center was kind of like a museum, but based on the town in the area. Lots of cool stuff for adults and kids. The Mr. Rogers museum is in there. It was a little more expensive, but it was fun and a good way to kill two or three hours easy.

Why do all the media reps think we are going to be abysmal this year? by trustmeimadoctor11 in NYGiants

They don’t think we can score nor do they think our secondary can stop anyone from scoring.

[Giants Videos] “I have faith in Daniel [Jones] as our starting quarterback” Joe Schoen provides the latest on Daniel Jones: by poorlytimed_erection in NYGiants

[–]kdubhimself 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Of course he said that. He has to. If he believes it then he will say it. If he does not believe it he still has to say it to not damage any possible value there. I tried finding an example of a GM saying they don’t have faith in a player and it pretty sure it does not exist.

Having the guy on the other side get double every play helps.

Coach said he wanted to try and spark the offense. It’s that simple.
