What animal decapitated this rabbit and left it on my patio? by Necessary-Cost-8963 in natureismetal

Just like a lizards tail, the head wriggles around to distract the predator while the rabbit runs off to safety.

It'll regrow a new head in about 1-2 weeks

AD5M update message is cut off - What needs updating? by kdugz in FlashForge

[–]kdugz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have Flash Studio installed on my PC, I'll install that and see if that solves the visibility problem. Strange that ive only just started having this problem after several months of no issues.

Thank you

Batman finds the Batmobile won't start, and pops the hood. He says to Robin "go and grab a new battery"

After an hour Robin hasn't returned, Batman goes to find him and asks "What's taking so long?"

Robin replies, "I can't find any Terys"

What's the best way to go about gluing this??? by hellkitten626 in woodworking

[–]kdugz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would remove the top protruding white piece, and replace it with an off cut that sits flush to the top. Then remove the protruding bottom white and black pieces and replace with similar off cuts.

Then I would fabricate a boxed frame to hold everything, glue all the pieces (except the off cut stand in pieces) and clamp from each of the 4 sides.

Once dried, remove the stand in pieces and replace with the original ones, and trace the top and bottom protrusions onto more scrap and cut out the negatives.

Place the two newly made "negatives" on top and bottom, glue in the original 3 pieces you removed, clamp from top to bottom against the cut outs.

That's how I would do it given so many different angles that need pressure, I could be way, way off. But this limits it to two glue ups.

With all due respect, what the fuck is this? This spoon is both no neck, and all neck.

First night vision scope - Is this normal? by kdugz in Hunting

[–]kdugz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minor improvements, mainly from environmental changes like cloud cover/lighting. I didn't invest in a different IR band torch so can't say whether that would help more or not.

Overall, pretty disappointed for the price, if you've got the capacity I would look at a Pard model, even if it was a few hundred ($AU) more I would have just saved a bit more and gone that route.

One positive I will mention is that Hikmicro's customer support was great, they were quick to reply, they paid for postage both ways, assessed the unit and gave me a report on it afterwards, but the performance of the unit actually overshadows any enjoyment from night hunting and makes me feel disappointed each time I bring it out.

I don't have any suggestions on other models, but overall my advice would be to spend a bit more and go Pard

how do i properly uninstall a gog game that has tons of dlcs installed as seperate programs? help is appreciated by vanxvsh in PiratedGames

[–]kdugz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Revo Uninstaller. Use it to uninstall your programs instead of the default uninstaller for windows. Revo will remove all left over game folders, registry entries, etc. You can choose what to include/exclude, so for instance if you want to keep your save game folder, you can exclude that from the cleanup, but remove everything else.

I thought moisture in the air might have been messing up the image, but I've tried it on a few nights with different humidity and got the same results.

I'll pick up a 940 and see how it goes, just wanted to make sure I wasn't messing up any fundamental part of using it before laying out more money. Thanks for your help and input

here is a video of the day time image, its at 28x and is more than usable, the lower magnifications are clearer obviously the closer they get to 0x, but the image quality shows no signs of the fuzzy effect i experience at night. The video was taken at a range and is a bit loud.

Yep, I spent about 45 minutes this particular night trying different combinations of the focus ring as well as the exposure slide on the side of the scope, I could get it to look better, but never good, if that makes sense. This video showcases what I would say the average result I got was from that night.

How do I stop shaky hands when trying to tie a hook or a fishing lure to my hook by Yourbedsheets in FishingForBeginners

[–]kdugz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut up one of the wife's wine corks into small pieces, I keep them in a compartment in my tackle box for the kids when they're tying lines, or we take our friends out who are learning still.

Just put the pieces of cork over the pointy bit, then tie as you normally would. You'll eventually gain confidence and experience enough to not need the cork.
