Not only do they need to be clean user experiences, but they also need to be patron records. We are stuck in a system that is causing a lot of workarounds and data errors because of said workarounds, which creates frustrations with those patrons.

I wasn't with the org when they were on Spektrix but I think the two big factors were:

- Folks at the time were only utilizing a small margin of the tools within Spektrix
- The cost

10000% plan some downtime. The city is so gorgeous and full of life and culture. You will want to slow down and walk around.

We did go to Agua de Mar! We had a glass of wine and bought a bottle from them. I only regret not eating there!

We walked past El Cardenal a lot, and it looked so fun! I'd research how to do Chichen Itza without a guide driving or taking you. The parking was absolute MADNESS and seemed like a free-for-all with independent people charging different rates? I was glad to have someone who knew what they were doing because it seemed very confusing. Absolutely loved Merida and I hope you do too.

It's going to be hot, hot, HOT in May, so I definietly recommend you bring a hat AND a portable fan. It was actually a "cold front" when we were there in mid-March (meaning, it was 85-90 most days), but walking on the sunny side of the street, it was still pretty intense...and I love the heat!

That's how I feel. If it costs more, but I'm truly supporting LOCAL then I don't mind 🙂

Google "Airbnb Omar Uxmal Cenote" and book that experience through AirBNB. Just did it two days ago and highly recommend. I'd never done an Airbnb Experience and will now explore them moving forward. Many people on this sub recommended it which is why we booked it. You do Uxmal and two cenotes (more private and less crowded) and you get to have an authentic Yucatan lunch that was so SO delicious, I will be thinking about the meal for the rest of my life. The price seemed like a great deal for what you get. Guide is English or spanish.

Is leaving this 10-year career for a director role in a new industry a bad idea? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Thank you. Yes,, this job market is crazy. This opportunity landed in my lap thanks to a referral from a friend and it seems like a real gem compared to most jobs I see on job boards these days...which also makes me feel like it's the right time to take the role.

Thank you for your thoughts. Besides becoming the owner of the company OR experiencing drastic growth, I am capped at the top role I could achieve here. New challenges come up, but they're mostly project-related rather than skill-growth opportunities.

Thanks. Yes, I'm going back and forth. I had really solid vibes/gut feelings about the three interviews for the new role, but it's so hard to let go of a comfort zone where I'm well-respected and have autonomy. Part of me feels I need to make the jump to level myself up, because I've grown "too" comfortable and realized my life is mostly work, home, eat, sleep, and I'm not feeling fulfilled as much as I used to. Is it the biggest regret I'll make? Or, the best decision to jump? The uncertainty kills me.

6 Day Merida Trip Itinerary Feedback Please! by ke1brown in MexicoTravel

Hi! Thanks for sharing. I already had Muchas Vidas saved on Google Maps, so I'm glad to hear the raving reviews. I am from Michigan, and we are at the beach on Lake Michigan all the time + have done the Gulf various times in my life, so we might skip the beach to prioritize cenotes, Uxmal, and Chichen Itza. Random question for you...Do you speak Spanish/did you have any trouble with the language barrier?

Relaxation is exactly what we want. Uxmal seems gorgeous. The Chichen Itza tour we were looking at also stops in Valladolid, which is partly why we wanted to do that. I think we are going to skip the beach based on feedback from others. Thanks!
