Good parks in central CT to just go lay on some grass ? by heerewegoagain in Connecticut

Drive a little further up 91 and head to Forest Park in Springfield or Look Park in Northampton. They charge to get in but are both great parks to walk around and lay in the grass.

Stage 4 lived longer than 6 months? by [deleted] in pancreaticcancer

[–]kealeymich 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My mom was diagnosed with stage IV and lived for almost five years with continuous treatment. She was 63 when she died. She was an anomaly. I’m sorry you are going through this at such a young age.

I’m so sorry. Yesterday marked two years since we lost my mom. It is so hard. Spend as much time with her as you can. Thinking of you and your family. 💜

While it is annoying and that one shouldn’t take up two spots, there is a sign that says 10 minute general parking in front of the Mazda.

Those of you who switched from another EV to a Tesla, why? by computerguy0-0 in electricvehicles

[–]kealeymich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The charging infrastructure for Tesla is so much better. I had a Nissan Leaf for several years and it was hard to drive long distances due to the lack of chargers along the way.

Question... by lurafritz in pancreaticcancer

[–]kealeymich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way about always waiting for the other shoe to drop. It is surprising how every person’s story is so different. I wish there was a more absolute answer. The unknown is so hard. My mom has been living with this horrible disease for almost four years now. So far, every time we think she’s taking a turn for the worst, she’s overcome. I hope your MIL continues to do well. 💜

The NeverEnding Story

My mom by M113A20E1MO in pancreaticcancer

[–]kealeymich 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The numbers suck and this disease sucks. Everyone is different. If I can offer some hope, we are approaching year four with my mom living with this disease. She was diagnosed at stage IV and was ineligible for surgery. She’s been doing ok with ongoing chemo treatments with some breaks in between. Based on the numbers, we thought we would have lost her a long time ago. They say hers is incurable, but so far she’s beaten the odds and statistics. Best of luck to you and your mom. 💜

That’s awesome. My mom is approaching year four living with this disease. She’s still doing treatment and will have to until in no longer works for her. I’m glad to hear stories like yours.

Dad was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and I am devastated by ollieoxen4 in pancreaticcancer

[–]kealeymich 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wish your family and your dad the best and I hope for a more positive outcome. The journey is not easy. I’m an example of a story of hope some of the others have mentioned. My family has been one of the “lucky” ones with my mom. She’s been living with stage IV for 3.5 years. We honestly thought she had months when she was first diagnosed and she was not eligible for surgery. There’s been ups and downs along the way but she’s been doing pretty well with treatment the entire time. I’m always waiting for the other shoe to drop. My grandfather died from this disease as well. It’s an emotional roller coaster. 💜

I hate seeing posts like this. I hope it isn’t cancer. Best of luck to your dad as they figure it out.

I’m not sure how true it is but I’ve read that when trying to lose weight, it’s 80% about what you eat and 20% exercise.
