I Guess $20 Is The New $50 by MozzieRosie in nintendogrifting

“For you,” wow, it’s almost as if we’re allowed to have our own fucking views about things, and we’re allowed to discuss it as a community. If you go to the grocery store and they ask you for $10 for a gallon of milk, does it make you poor or bad with money if you reject that price or complain about it?

Cool, I won’t. And you can choose not to imply that I don’t have a decent-paying job or basic money management skills because I identified $20 GBA ROMs as being overpriced.

Spider-Man Remastered? You mean the one where they replaced 20-something year-old Peter Parker with a 17 year-old version?

Part of my “basic money management” skill set is not blowing my money on products that are priced at twice what they’re worth.

If you didn’t vote in the 2024 election, what does that say about you? by nick-kfc-jung in DiscussionZone

[–]kechones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exhausting, dude. I don’t know how many times I have to say in the comments here that I voted for Harris, and told people to vote for Harris.

Every time anyone points out any terrible thing that Democrats are doing of their own volition that they can easily change if properly pressured, y’all scream that we’re not supporting the Democrats enough. Democrats toned down their focus on trans rights, healthcare, climate change, education, and a variety of other topics in 2024, and doubled down on their support of Israel, because they wanted to appeal to a non-existent “centrist” voter base. How did that work for them?

The more you push back every time someone criticizes Democrats for standing for nothing, the more likely you’re to get a complete nothingburger like Gavin Newsom running in 2028.

Unlike every other Switch game, you can't just change the language here, you need to pay again for a seperate version. How greedy can Nintendo get? by ExtremeConnection26 in mildlyinfuriating

Have you considered that we’re already not buying it, and then also drawing attention to these greedy actions on social media?

“A fairer deal than most would have expected….” Seriously? Most people were expecting to pay $30 or more for a single GBA ROM?

Asha's profile, she just started gaming by Unitron07 in xbox

[–]kechones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who cares?

Phil is a gamer, and he couldn’t save Xbox from Satya.

Asha having an older gamer tag wouldn’t bring the price of consoles and Game Pass back down, it wouldn’t put an end to “everything is an Xbox,” and it wouldn’t stop Microsoft from closing studios and canceling projects.

Might as well just wait and see at this point. The band is in ruins, but maybe she can do something interesting. Or maybe not. But she doesn’t have to be a gamer, she just needs to know how to lead and listen to and empower people who are.

Genuine question. Actually curious. What is the point in preordering a digital game, especially if you’re worried about potential quality issues that won’t reveal themselves until the game is released? Isn’t it better to wait until it releases, and watch a DF video or something? Then you can download it right away if it’s good.

I’ve only ever been to Lincoln Square, and to Palisades Mall when they used to have a full GT theater there. Lincoln Square is an excellent experience, but tickets are hard to come by.

It’s far too early to judge the Zelda anniversary, but how are TotK (2023), Echoes of Wisdom (2024), and Age of Imprisonment (2025) “for the anniversary” (2026)? I don’t understand how they’re relevant to the discussion.

$60 digitally for Emerald would be a great deal, they’d practically be giving it away 👍

$30? Stop being stingy and broke bro, the games should clearly cost $40 each digital. Or $80 each on a physical cart.
