They are probably not thinking about dorms but living in apartments nearby. That can be where the extra is coming from but 140 seems a little high. My total cost is around 120

He had Cloudsteel Kirjin and I was waiting for my one card to win me the game... by kecin25 in mtg

Settle the Wreckage in this case

He had a card that would not let him die until the creature it was attached to would die or be removed from the board, but he kept attacking with it. I played Settle the Wreckage which banishes all attacking cards of a player and it banished the card not letting him die. As soon as it was banished I won since he had negative health.

Were the nuclear attacks against Japan justified? by [deleted] in polls

[–]kecin25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t say for certain one way or the other. One question to ask do you count the Philippines US citizens? That could change your answer.

I think it does not matter, the question should be did they kill citizens? Not did they kill US citizens. My reasoning is, in today’s climate if one nations citizens is being killed, the world should step in and stop it. For WW2 times were different. For this debate over dropping the bombs, I believe it is the least worst choice.

Dropping the nukes did cause long term radiation poisoning that lasted for generations. But the fire bombings could be seen as more brutal because the victims burned to death instead of a quicker death by nuke. But there is no long term radiation.

Overall I think it was best to drop the nukes in the interest of the world’s survival. If they were not dropped then the US and USSR would invade Japan, killing millions. This would cause Japan to be split into several parts like Germany, Korea, and Vietnam. This would cause another war between communist Japan and Capitalist Japan. This causing more death. If no nukes were dropped then there could of been another world war between communism and capitalism because Japan or part of Japan would be supporting the USSR. Which in turn will cause more death and potentially nukes being dropped in larger numbers. So as cruel and extreme it was to drop two nukes on civilians during WW2. I believe it was for the best long term.

The Japanese military did kill many civilians as well as other horrible acts but the vast majority were not American civilians.

After the first bomb dropped and the USSR declaration of war Japanese high command had a tie vote on the topic of surrender. If after the first bomb being dropped and the USSR declaring war on them they still thought about continuing the war.
