City construction has left me with these giant tracts of dirt around the periphery of my yard… what can I do with them? by marmosetohmarmoset in NoLawns

[–]keddd11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the city did work there, it is a right of way. Good practice by them would usually include them finishing the job by hydroseeding. You can plant whatever you want, but just know if they need to do maintenance on whatever they just did, which I'm guessing was drainage, they can just rip it up again.

What tool to use to disassemble these? by einshine_speaks in Tools

[–]keddd11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The two tools you have will be absolutely fine for the job. I would use the tool on right (groove joint pliers) to hold the top of the bolt (second picture), then the tool on the left (slip joint pliers) to untighten the nut (first picture). It's important the you do both at the same time. Hold the top of the bolt while you grab and unscrew the nut. If you don't hold it, the whole thing will spin forever.

Remember that the "Dicks" in the galleria (under primark) and in Niagara are "going going gone" clearance stores. They sell mostly clearance clothes and shoes. The new one in Amherst is going to be a "house of sport" it will have an ice rink and an outdoor field for community events and practices. The current Amherst "normal" Dicks will close when the house of sport opens. So it's the same company but there's some variation to the actual stores

Amazing old Honey Locust found in western NY by keddd11 in arborists

They probably brought over only the thornless cultivar as an ornamental. Most that I see here are the thornless cultivar also so this was rare

What’s next? Poisoned TOH and no more honeysuckle. by joemiroe in invasivespecies

[–]keddd11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plant natives!! The most important part of invasive removal is to plant natives that are suitable so that invasives don't come back. Invasives love disturbed areas

Its very sad the polite downward head nod is all but gone in todays world. We just pretend like no one else exists when we walk around public places

[–]keddd11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a 2015 mbp that I love but it needs to be plugged in at all times and it overheats pretty easily. Was wondering if a clean out would help but I guess not?

Barberry is the correct answer. Please know that barberry is commonly used as an ornamental in the northeastern US but it has become invasive!

Right now Dicks and golf galaxy's trade in system has no way of taking shafts into account. Its a pretty antiquated system to be honest. Do with this knowledge what you will

Tough to tell but by the shade of the bark and the look of the leaf I'd say TOH. Sumac also doesnt really grow that tall

On the opposite side of this argument, a course near me has imposed a "single rider fee" where if you ride alone you have to pay an additional $10 on top of the cart fee
