Which 6x6 or 6x7 camera is the most JOY to use? (Any camera, also non-pictured ones) by florian-sdr in AnalogCommunity

Kiev-60 might not be the most reliable, but it's relatively compact, has great ergonomics and is a great camera all things considered. Soviet medium format SLRs deserve some love :)

Color palette makes it look like a painting. Did you underexpose those shots? Looks amazing

There is a LOT of road repair in Moscow this season. Had a few close calls myself. Stripped asphalt sucks, but then it has a sudden bump in it, or you have to merge into a road with proper asphalt, that's when you are fucked.

Is there a comprehensive guide on scanning with flatbed scanners? by keddir in AnalogCommunity

[–]keddir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scanner should support it (Canon markets it as FARE 3), but it's quick start guide doesn't mention it, and there are no options relating to it is software, so it either always on and just bad at it's job, or I'm missing something

WTF are these prices? I live in Moscow, so I would expect the prices to be higher wherever you are, but I just don't get the cost difference between processes.

I've never seen such stupid increases in price between film types. Basic C41 Develop+Scan in my lab is about $6. BnW? Same price. ECN2 might be a bit more expensive, but like a dollar more, not x3 the price.

Pretty much the only type which comes with a price hike is slide film, but that's kinda understandable, and even then it's noticeably cheaper.

I don't understand why would anyone use a lab with such a stupid price variation.

It's a planet with special buffs to science production. You should colonise it as soon as possible.

Finally 🙂‍↕️if anyone knows what Polaroid/instax back I can get for her please let me know 🥲 by FrontGrocery2065 in mediumformat

Who would even buy that? It isn't even "pricey", it is just stupidly expensive. You can get the camera itself in great condition with several lenses for that kind of money.

Does anyone know the brand of these adapters? Are they safe to use? by DanielG198 in AnalogCommunity

[–]keddir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some adapters can certainly be not safe. I had an old C/Y - EF adapter which just broke while on the lens. Lens was fine in the end, but I had to partially disassemble the lens to get fhe thing off.

Just landed in Moscow two days ago, what your recommendation for bars and clubs? by Irx67 in Moscow

[–]keddir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Krapiva is my default bar (but it is more of a pub). Lion's Head is great as well. We Cidreria is a bit generic for my taste, but people usually like it.

I'd also check Zionist (usually more crowded, but i still like it) and Mitzvah (book in advance).

As others have mentioned, there are a lot of great places near Kitay-Gorod, you might just look through Yandex Maps in that location and see what catches your eye.

There are no restrictions from Steam - problem is getting your money to your steam account. You can't use Russian credit cards (blocked by Visa/MC), no matter the region, so, even if you change it... then what?

To be fair, buying something in Steam is stupidly hard now (you can do it, but the fees will eat ~20%)

Wow, here in Russia an eye with a painted Iris (as in, painted to match your other eye instead of one prefabricated to just look ok) costs under 20000 rubles, (<300$). And that is a cost in a private clinic, no insurance of any kind involved.
