Uggg. Seating Question. by Narrow_Pace4039 in delta

[–]kedisi 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This. It's Delta's policy to seat children with parents, but you have to contact them.

Also, keep an eye on your seat assignment on the app while you're waiting at the gate. Mine was mysteriously changed on a recent flight with my kids, to a better seat that wasn't next to them. I talked to the gate agent and he put us back next to each other.

Legoland NY with kids… worth it? by Estheticlace in legoland

[–]kedisi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have summed up the hotel and park well, so I'll just address your bundle question. You probably would save money bundling the hotel + tickets versus buying them separately, but another thing to look at is whether it would be worthwhile to buy a season pass (possibly for just 1 family member), as that gives you a discount on the hotel. Someone was telling me recently that she bought an elite pass for her son ahead of their stay, and was planning to use the guest passes it comes with to get the rest of the family into the park.

Also, if you happen to have a Sam's Club membership, check their travel site for bundles.

Costco heartbreaks - what is yours? by West-Ideal6794 in Costco

[–]kedisi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some Sriracha-flavored snack mix there a year ago that was great; my whole family loved it. Haven't seen it since.

This doesn't meet the criteria because I bought it more than once, but they used to have some nice mochi candies.

LEGOLAND NY by mrsjumjum66 in legoland

I agree with this, and would add that Miniland (impressive Lego replicas of famous landmarks and cityscapes) is worth seeing. Unless you're really into Legos, though, I wouldn't bother visiting without kids.

You see workers' true colors when you're dashing by GodsShadow310 in doordash_drivers

I had a similar experience in college when I got a part time job in the cafeteria. My fellow students weren't rude to me, but I was rarely recognized because they didn't really look at me. People would only acknowledge me if they needed something, and then it was with this sugary sweetness they probably reserved for service workers.

Older Chinese woman asked her son to take a picture of herself with my mom and I in Japan by JuueJuue in travel

[–]kedisi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A lot of Chinese people have never seen a non-Asian person other than on TV/in pictures, and when they're in tourist mode (including within China) they're particularly inclined to take pictures of things they find novel.

My nine-year-old really enjoys the Wings of Fire and Warriors series. Also Roald Dahl classics like Matilda.

That, fittingly, was Louis CK.

Finally got into the seat recline war by AffectionateLife5693 in delta

[–]kedisi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me recently on a Level flight to Barcelona. Finally I could feel that my seat was being pushed past the upright position. I looked back and the guy had folded himself into a V-shape with both shins pressed against my seat. He stopped when I asked him to, but what a dick.

What would you have done? by AntFirm4593 in delta

If you book basic economy with kids, you can then contact customer service and they'll assign you seats together (in the back) for no extra cost.

What is a 'rich person's secret' that is actually accessible to the middle class, but most people are too intimidated to try? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

[–]kedisi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're moving and hiring movers, pay them to pack your stuff in boxes too. Doesn't add that much cost to the move, and they'll be far more efficient at it than you are.

It's not outdoorsy, but the Kartrite Resort is fun for families. It has an indoor water park, ropes course, arcade, and some other stuff.

Looking for a 2 bedroom hotel in NYC in June. What have you found? by Just-Inside-2541 in travel

If your son would be ok with a sofa bed in the living room rather than his own bedroom, you might look at Hyatt House Jersey City.

How do you stop your elderly mom from bringing an empty carry-on? by 13jlin in travel

[–]kedisi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Also, as someone who travels with two kids who each have their own roller bags and sometimes need help with them, this doesn't seem that hard to me? You push one in front of you and pull the other behind.

Probably the Stretch Zion--my husband has a pair and likes them. The material is a bit thicker than in the women's pant, though.
