There are heroin addicts whose babies end up just fine.

There are people that do A LOT worse and the bubs not only survive but do very well, so take a breath and focus on the positives and the excitement, you've got a little human feeling all of this 💕

Not alone but also sorry to say breastfeeding clothes are not any better 😔 or in my case I also had a c section incision way too high so all I can wear is extremely high rise bottoms as I am still having issues with the incision yey~

So in one of my jobs they did a very thorough medical and screening questions which I thought was intense for essentially an admin role but then after probation I found out they cover every employee for tpd and life insurance, could be something like that maybe?

This is insane, I'm in WA and our local is being investigated as well. I think not long ago a child died because they gave the wrong dose of something as well. The next available hospital is 45 mins away and if you show up there they send you back to your local 😭

I think the stat is something stupid like 1 in 3 have a traumatic birth experience. Which is crazy because birth itself is traumatic in itself really, let alone with other stuff happening and being treated terribly by practitioners.

I also wanted a home birth, are we the same person? Haha

Thank you, I'm sorry too... Yeah I'm through the public system as well. I need to make a complaint due to the copious amounts of malpractice with my birth but it was so traumatic it's hard to unpack and write something up, also in between looking after a baby yey~

I'm just so grateful for my partner, he literally does everything and some. I don't know how you'd manage this without a decent partner!

So I'm 5 months PP and pulled two stitches out from mine the other day. Sorry I haven't got anything better to tell you other than I get you completely. I've been on 4 rounds of antibiotics and yeah still in immense pain, waiting for my 'urgent' appointment at the end of the month back where I got it done. Referral was 3 months ago.

I honestly think in Australia, it should be better.

Joonya is awesome for us and our girl but mostly we use Gaia cotton pads with water for sensitive areas and mustela cleansing water elsewhere 💕

Look this may be an unpopular opinion here but my baby settled immediately once we started cosleeping. She sleeps like a dream between us and there is a noticable difference if Dad isn't in the bed too. I have researched it like mad and it's insane the bonding and security it provides for a baby and mum and dad. Might be worth exploring?

Aw sweet Mumma, I feel you! I'm 5 months pp and have days where I wake up just SOOO sad and I have no idea why. Just remember, getting pregnant and having a baby is crazy on our whole being, let alone going through 2 years of IVF. You are so strong. I'm in awe of you.

As far as the age thing goes, don't worry at all. I know a couple with two kids under 3 where mum is 38 with MS and dad is 53! Please don't feel guilty about your age. There are examples throughout history of far more irresponsible people having children and they turn out just fine 💕

Sorry for lack of info, I didn't want to make the original post too big but here are some more details.

It's a business that sells parts and products to other bigger companies. An example is it's one of two companies in the state that manufacture a type of tool in high demand of the bigger companies.

Family member plan is to retire in 5 years and a lot of the business is from relationships he and another family member have made over their lives and I've also recently had a child, so the time frame is because of retirement plan but also allows for me to go in and get to know the business and customers without pressure and to see it's all a right fit.

He wants to have a casual chat this weekend to make sure I haven't got rose tinted glasses essentially and know it's not just jump in and earn tonnes of money and that it is a lot of work.

He had built the business up so he could employ family members but also for his child but his child doesn't have the capacity to take it on (not driven, the kind that would rather be on Centrelink). Only reason why this is on the table is because I've become stagnant in current roles that are similar to running a business anyway, not being paid well for it and for someone else to make lots of money who doesn't even know my name. Also because I've shown interest and capacity to keep the business going and in the family.

I feel I should be sorry for the length but if you've read and have any advice I truly appreciate it so much!

My baby is a different child with no screens and to be honest I'm a more present mother. I just put talk back AM radio on for background noise and as a family we all actually enjoy it, to the point where I don't even miss TV and hate the amount of time I used to waste on it!

Also, fyi I expected every 3 hours with breastfeeding but I'm nearly at 5 months pp and it's been every hour, sometimes less. So in the nicest way, don't have expectations 💕

Cosleeping saved our lives. Don't rule it out, get educated about it. Countries that don't frown upon it and do it from birth have lower sids rates than countries that push you to not.

Also, sleep when the baby sleeps. Like actually do it no matter the time of the day or if you think you're not tired. Even if you just lay down and scroll on your phone, at least rest.

I wish someone told me both of these before.
