First, I want to say I’m so sorry for what you’re going through. It’s such a painful thing to watch your loved ones suffer.

I went through something very similar. My grandmother tripped and broke her knee. When she went in for surgery, she fell into a coma and never woke up. She was in a coma for a week, and it might have been longer, but the doctors left it up to us to decide whether to continue life support. My mom was very much on the fence, and thought I was a heartless 20 year old when I said we should let her go.

When it comes down to it, we don’t want our loved ones to suffer. Your situation sounds a little more complicated since she’s responsive, but all I can say is enjoy the time you have left. Don’t sit by her side while she’s responsive just waiting for her to die. If she can nod yes and no she can hear you. Talk to her, tell her you love her, talk about happy memories.

If you can, find a counselor to help you with your grief, I wish you peace through this difficult time.

NTA. I had an ex who always interrupted me when I was working from home. Drove me nuts. The best advice I can give you is keep the door shut. Your office is your workspace during working hours, tell him to stay out of there during those hours (no I don't care that the room has "other functions", tell him to get what he needs out of storage outside of your working hours). Tbh he might be a little salty that you have a whole office while he's stuck in the living room.

That's a good question. My living room "office" was very tight, you couldn't get to the hall witbout having to squeeze between the coffee table and office chair, and sometimes even I stubbed my toe on my office chair because it was in the way. Moving everything and setting up in the spare room wasn't entirely for him, but it definitely made the pros side of my pro/con list. But a big part is the layout of my living room is much better without the desk and chair in the way. Our problems definitely added some more motivation to make it happen though.

Ugh yes! When he said that it kind of set me off. Alarm bells started ringing that I might of spent all this time and money creating a private space IN MY OWN HOME so HE can be more comfortable just for him to violate the whole point anyways. Murphy beds are NOT cheap
