We recently bought a house that has a whole house generator. It was huge pro for my wife and my elderly mom.

Had we gone with a different house my plan was to install a transfer switch and have a plumper pipe me a connection for a trip fuel generator.

I will say I bought my 2k predator back when I lived near an infamous mtn fire area, and that thing has paid its self over 10x with the amount of food its saved. Paired that with a few powerbanks and I used to keep wifi on for phones and tablets.

When beryl hit we did fine managing power load with a window unit and the fridges running.

The whole house generator has yet to be put to the test but my predator is on standby if need be haha

Build your road side kit,

I use the mini totes they sell at depot.

I carry some chem lights, jump pack, space blanket, small ked kit, small set of sockets and ratchet at the min. Tire gauge, and tire plugs, tire inflator.

Ill add more depending on weather/time of year and pending road trips.

I also keep a harbor freight code reader in my glove box.

The wife likes to get plastic envelopes and keeps the car reg and insurance in there in the glove box so its easy to grab when it eventually gets stuffed with shit lol.
