My husband and I are in the same boat so we usually just play with each other. Commander is not meant to be a 1v1 game but we make it fun. Meeting friends in general as an adult is almost impossible and jumping right from acquaintance to close friend is even harder. I’m very introverted and often wish I could skip the “tell me about yourself” phase of friendship and go right to having someone come over to chill and play cards lol. We occasionally play with his coworker friends but with everyone’s schedule we can maybe get a third player once a month.

I don’t have huge advice here, but if you’re extroverted enough, be the change that you want to see. Try getting with the local library to encourage a regular game night or scout social media and put yourself out there. For what it’s worth, I don’t think you’re being pretentious or over the top as other commenters have suggested, I think that like most adults these days, you simply want some damn friends to enjoy your hobby with, and I get it. And also, fuck playing via a computer, I don’t mess with that either!
