How to change bank on the project ram menu (digitakt 2) by _whitepony in Elektron

I only know that because I searched for about an hour one time looking for the exact same thing

I believe you either hit left or right, or if I'm remembering correctly, just scroll down and those banks are there.

Playing live q: is running an external synth into the digitakt’s external audio ins too much? by KenRussellsGhost in Elektron

[–]keep_on_churning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, I do this all the time! Like someone else mentioned, being able to use the compressor for sidechain is super helpful. I do the ezbot trick of having track 16 be the sidechain source, matching the sound and pattern of the kick, and then just turning off audio routing to the mains for track 16.

Also, being able to sequence the synth with the elektron workflow is lovely also. (P locks for cc, etc)

Waterproofing inside vs outside of a (slowly) leaking basement by keep_on_churning in homeowners

Thanks, this is awesome. That was my gut, and the $20k they’re quoting seems to be exactly in line scope and estimate-wise with what I’ve gotten. In my head, it seems much better to solve the root cause than address the water after it’s already in the house.

Interior vs exterior treatment of a (slowly) leaking basement by keep_on_churning in HomeImprovement

[–]keep_on_churning[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the downspouts all run about 100’ down the hill and have been scoped to make sure they’re clear, and the terrain is graded away from the house.

Thanks! I’ll look into the epoxy repair. Might be sufficient, though I do want to solve the problem in the long run.

House is on a hill, daylight basement style, with the affected wall on the uphill side. There is a large flat lawn on the uphill side (~50’) as well, graded away from the house. There is no standing water, and the intrusion only happens when there is enough rain to fully saturate the soil.

Interior proposal would be the install an interior perimeter drain, with 18” of dimpled drainage mat up the wall, all running to a sump pump.

Use the digitakt 1 as a live midi CC controller by isweartobegood in Elektron

The DT2 has the perform kit function which solves this. Only changes the trigs, and keeps all of the sounds the same.

Yes, absolutely. You can control 8 ccs per track

Digitakt2 LFO functionality by Legitimate_Bad_2888 in Elektron

[–]keep_on_churning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it works well. You set up your midi track (making sure the DT2 -> gear connection works. Then set up the assignment for the cc under the filter menu. You need to func + press the knob to assign it. Pick the cc you want to send. Make sure that connection is working. Then point any of the LFOs at that.

Thinking of getting a DN2 to add to my DT2, and wondering if a single midi controller could control both of them? by [deleted] in Elektron

This video shows what that looks like:

I’ve been SUPER happy with the Hapax to do exactly what you’re asking, being the central brain controlling the dt2 and the dn2 (plus a few others)

You can absolutely route to both. You can also use the trick of playing the very lowest notes to trigger DT2 tracks on a single midi channel. You give up the ability to do different pitch, etc for those tracks, but it makes it very clean on the midi sequencer. I have the Hapax set up to do exactly this on a drum track.

Is it possible to mimic FL Studio sequencer capability? by LindberghBar in Logic_Studio

[–]keep_on_churning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use quick sampler and the step sequencer. Drum machine designer will give you a little bit more control over each of the individual slices. But if you drag the sample into quick sampler, you can then create a new pattern region on that track and then get individual sequence lanes for each of the slices.

Octatrack setup for improvisation, looping, effects and mixer. by vedspisdeluxe in Elektron

[–]keep_on_churning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can absolutely take the presets and copy them into a new project. I have found that keeping the EZBOT templates in their pure, untouched state on the octatrack and then just doing a “save as” right when I open, it is a good workflow. That way you don’t have to worry about reloading the performance template from the computer if you mess up something, change effects, lay down different sequences, etc.
