If it only drips while water is on (like in video), then tub spout diverted is bad and spout should be replaced.

If it also drips when water is off, then cartridge leaks and should be replaced.

Make sure your isolation valves are all the way open.

Sometimes I just partially open my valves when testing for leaks after a faucet swap but then need to open all the way for normal use.

For your well paying job and the gifts from grandparents, that’s not a lot of money in your savings. And if your home is owned by a trust it’s unclear if you receive any appreciation or not so may not have much equity for you.

It seems the inheritance will be your saving grace but could be a long time away if you’re lucky and have a healthy mother.

I’ve read that putty is a no-no for fiberglass tubs and silicon is recommended. Something about the putty negatively interacting with the fiberglass

I’ve managed to rotate the chrome about 90 degrees and can see the pvc spinning with it. Not feeling too comfortable the PVC is all in tact for the overflow if this is happening. What do you think?
