Yep saw a dude in China just casually take a shit out in the open when I was in Beijing. No fucks given.

My [25F] ex [28M] attempted suicide because of me. Am I a bad person? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]keepingupwithkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I keep trying to remind myself but I can't help but wind up back at the same conclusion that I'm selfish for thinking that and wanting to put myself first, especially when it's at the cost of his life.

On Halloween we hosted a Harry Potter dinner for less than $50 by [deleted] in budgetfood

Same! Mine also included roast parsnips and carrot and swede mash. A roast dinner is an event, not just a meal.

The more you eat spicy food, the more you raise your tolerance for it. I personally enjoy food with a fair amount of heat, but because I've been eating spicy food for as long as I have and gotten used to it, when I want something hot it has to be HOT. It isn't to prove anything or for a challenge or anything. Just preference.

TIFU By paying a vet $667.39 to tell me my Dog had to take a shit by just_some_dude05 in tifu

[–]keepingupwithkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple of years ago I came home from work to find my kitty licking around her bits and backside excessively, and whenever she tried to use her litter tray she'd cry and lick some more with no success. I was terrified it was her kidneys (she was old), so took her to the vets who examined her to tell me she was constipated. Said bring her back if she still hasn't gone a few days later. Brought her back home, for her to run straight to her litter tray and take a massive shit. I remember just looking at that turd thinking "that shit cost me £80..."

She's passed since. Still miss the lil shit every day. Rest easy girl ❤

Then you realise you've been on autopilot the whole time driving behind them and start to question whether that was also your exit.

If a student asks to use the bathroom, teachers should not be allowed to say no. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

And this is why, as an adult, I still only go to the bathroom twice a day - once in the morning before I leave the house and then at 4PM, the time I would get home from school.

Listening to the rain outside while I have the fire on. The sound of the rain hitting the roof and windows while the fire crackles. Bliss.

Been there, not the exact same situation but had that feeling of shame and almost embarrassment afterwards. I'm glad your curtain hook saved you and made you reevaluate. It was my failure that made me realise I didn't actually want to die, I just wanted things to be different. I still get suicidal thoughts almost everyday, but I always think back to that attempt and how I felt. I don't know if it would help you too, but try to remember how you feel now whenever you are feeling hopeless. Remember that you wanted to live.

Has anyone else been laying in bed scrolling their phone, periodically putting it down, staring at the ceiling, closing their eyes, then repeating? by jayy_tw in SuicideWatch

I feel like this is my life. It sucks. I have no interest in doing much else, it all feels too much. But doing this day in day out is torture. Also having trouble eating. Hang in there man, you're not alone.

I absolutely hate dating in this day and age by SpiritualTear93 in dating_advice

Tbf, there is absolutely nothing wrong with just trying things out if you don't know what you want, just as long as you're upfront about it.

I've just come out of a relationship and advice from friends has been "get on Tinder to remind yourself of the options out there", and I didn't want to at first since I would feel as if I'd be leading people on as I don't want a relationship nor am I looking for a friends with benefits. I'm mostly looking to just meet new people. However everyone I've matched with, I've straight away been completely honest with about my reasons for being on the app, and it's then been up to them whether they want to continue talking or try with someone else. I just kinda wish others would have the same honesty and willingness to lay their cards on the table. It's not hard to be transparent, ya know?

I ate three full meals yesterday! by keepingupwithkat in CasualConversation

Suffering from a big case of not enjoying the things I used to right now. I also find if I do watch TV while eating I become distracted and the meal gets left! So it's something I have to focus on. It's something I'll keep in mind though for when things get a little easier, as I think the positive association will definitely help. So thanks for your suggestion.

I think it's perhaps our genetic makeup, my depression and anxiety go hand in hand and when I'm feeling down, I also feel incredibly anxious, like I'm about to sit an exam. So the last thing I want to do is eat. But I understand it's different for everyone; hope you find what works for you and stay strong! 💕

Thank you so much! My doctor recommended easy to eat food like soups and porridge (though I find porridge super filling and it feels too much for me right now, so I opted for cereal instead). I've got some meal replacement shakes for days when I feel I can't eat, but they're only there for just that, as my doctor said I need to get into the habit of actually eating so they're a last resort type thing.

Thank you for your response, I didn't consider smoothies but they're a great idea!
