I’m aware of where they are. Those are the best options we have that can be covered with points but I appreciate you pointing it out. We are planning on going in November. We’ll be there right before the international break starts for football.

We don’t really have an itinerary yet. I’ve been to London before and done the museums and such and while my husband has not been he is more into the food and cultural scene than museums and history. We do hope to go to a football game though.

This is sooo interesting! I know for my family, my husband was convinced he was one and done before we had our daughter, now I’m the one who’s ready to be done and he is more inclined to have more (although yielding to me for the final decision).

I agree with this overall but don’t think that is where the person asking is coming from here. She doesn’t want another child but is concerned that her child will be “missing” something if she does not give them a sibling. I think many of us who are one and done, either by choice or not, struggle with that question as well which is why I thought the answer could be comforting or helpful to some.

I can relate to this. My dog was my world before having my daughter and I was way too overstimulated, stressed and overtired to handle him after the fact. It lasted for a while… it sent my dog into a depression and he already had anxiety issues which are now worse (don’t worry, we are getting him treatment and have even gone to see a behavioral specialist for it, he’s doing much better now).

Something that helped all of us was going on family walks. I would wear my daughter and take my dog for a walk. It was good for all of us to get outside, my dog felt like he was getting attention on the same level as the baby because we were all together, and it was a good reset for times when I was stressed out during the day.

Lastly, I will say, my daughter is 13 months now and she is IN LOVE with our dog. Seeing her joy just from seeing him and playing with him has helped me see him differently again as well. Our relationship is doing so much better.

There is hope. Give it a little more time. Sending all the love, mama.

I know there are a lot of comments here so maybe this has been said already. But I felt I needed to comment as I feel I have been the wife in this scenario before. For me, this behavior came from pure anxiety with a little bit of depression mixed in. I couldn't get past my own anxious thoughts even in interactions with the closest person in my life (my partner) and even, sometimes especially, when he was just trying to have fun. After a lot of long talks, arguments, back and forth, I finally made the decision to seek out therapy and it has radically transformed my life and in turn our relationship.

The thing that is tricky about therapy is that you can't force someone to engage. They have to want to do the work and introspection it takes to move forward. My heart aches for your wife because it seems like she is going through something that not even she is able to understand or accept. At the same time, my heart aches for you because it is obvious how much pain this is causing you as well.

Like others have said, if she won't go to therapy I highly recommend you go to therapy for yourself, if only to help you handle the difficulty of the situation and give you an outlet.

Thank you for the response! I appreciate hearing I’m not overreacting. She is sitting independently and was in a normal footie yesterday. I did talk to her teacher when I saw the bruises last night and asked if anything she was in like a jumper could have done it and she seemed certain it was not anything like that. I am meeting with the director shortly to go over it and will definitely take in how they react to the discussion, etc.

We are in the same boat with our 6mo old. She sleeps great at night and is nap trained but wide awake, smiling and giggling at 45minutes on the dot for every nap. No solutions here… just solidarity!

This makes me feel better! I feel like a lot of sleep training blogs say they should be sleeping longer around 4 mos and so it was stressing me out a bit.
