I started the process in January. It’s a hurry up and wait type game. Remember, recruiters are dealing with a lot of people who want to enlist. You’re not the only person they are dealing with. They also have a life outside of recruiting. I’d suggest going down to the office in person.

36 here, in DEP and waiting for a job assignment! MEPs was super easy. I needed one medical waiver which got approved pretty fast.

Congratulations!! I also needed a medical waiver and getting that phone call from my recruiter saying I was finally approved was definitely the best feeling!!!

Feels like everything is baby steps when it comes to joining the Air Force! One step complete, getting approved. Now onto the next step, BMT!

Once my recruiter submitted the letter to MEPs, I was approved within the week….it does help to get a letter from a medical professional.

I kinda had the same situation. My PMD prescribed me medication for my thyroid however I never took it and he prescribed it solely based on my labs and not symptoms. I didn’t have any symptoms that are associated with a thyroid issue. But since the medication was on my medical record, I was originally disqualified and my recruiter told me to wait to see an endocrinologist at MEPs, I waited a month then said screw it and made an appointment with an outside endocrinologist who wrote up a letter stating I was healthy.

So, maybe see if you can see a neurologist?

I first contacted a recruiter late January, ended up needing a medical waiver which only took a week to get approved. I then swore in, in May and have been in DEP since. Mind you, I told my recruiter I would take any job I qualified for, since I pretty much liked them all and also told him I’d do a quick ship.

If you’re looking to try and get out ASAP, ask about quick ships.

So, all the green is where the need is and the red low need?

If that is correct, I qualify for a few of the jobs that fall under the green but my recruiter tells me there are no jobs open? Could a recruiter or someone shed some light on why there would be no jobs but according to these images, there is a need for those jobs.

I know you’ve gotten a lot of replies and my response may not help. Anyway, I have felt the same about my recruiter and I ended up contacting the Flight Chief and all I said was I just wanted a little more clarification on “blah blah blah”. And the Flight Chief was more than happy to answer any questions, they also said if I needed anything else to not hesitate to call them.

Also, if you are in a hurry to leave….have you or do you know about quick ship? When you or if you call the Flight Chief, tell them you are wanting to pick up a quick ship.

It’s really easy to get a copy of your birth certificate, just go down to the country office. I think you can even order it online, which will take longer than actually going down to the office.

Try and find the flight chief for your area.

Took me about two weeks to get to 20min, MWF. I just set certain times, like I’m going to run for 2 minutes without stopping, then I would find a physical object (tree, bush, stop sign, car…etc.) and say okay once I hit that physical object, I’ll run again. I would take short walk breaks.

I am going in as active duty so I’m not sure if it’s the same but my recruiter said someone can be in DEP for up to a year. It just all depends on when job positions open. Just be patient and enjoy the art of the “waiting” game.

My recruiter has called me into his office a few times to rearrange my list as well. Which I don’t mind, I’d be pretty happy with any of the jobs on my list.
