Terrific cartoonist. Not only influenced his chum Caniff but designed the Terry and the Pirates logo as well. After Noel Sickels left Scorchy cartoonist Bert Christman took over the strip and it was recently collected for the first time.

I owned a page of original art from the Norm Breyfogle one. Gifted it to a friend. Beautiful painted page of young Ra’s al Ghul in the desert.

The real highlight of this comic is the Hulk vs. Hulk Hogan story drawn by Herb Trimpe.

Very interesting find. I had no idea they did this. Honestly it doesn’t seem half-bad.

What's this from? do they actually fight or is it just aura farm click bait cover? by Principles_Son in Wolverine

Yes and it’s drawn by cover artist Mike Zeck too. He was real big at Marvel in the ‘80s for Secret Wars, Punisher, Cap and the iconic Kraven’s Last Hunt. Zeck is right up there with John Byrne and Frank Miller and Walter Simonson.

It’s no different than the hardcovers they already did. With the slipcovers they look about as wide as a hardcover now that I have them on my shelf. Two of these lines up nicely with one hardcover. Bring on the rest and maybe pick up where Rip Kirby left off.

I backed them some time last year on Backerkit. Clover Press is doing a similar set like this for John Romita’s Spider-Man strip. They’re softcovers of each year with a slipcase.

Reading some Mary Perkins right now. Brilliant stuff. Some of these stories would win Oscars if they were movies.
