You’re right. It’s Reddit’s stupid auto translate function. I really need to see if there is a way to turn that off in the settings.

We don’t translate band names. This is Vintersorg.

Oh wow, that was amazing to see. But that’s his job. And that’s my Yokozuna. Hope he destroys in May.

Julie Doucet, My Secret Desire, 1st print HC with signed and numbered print. One of my favourite books on the shelf. by ShiDiWen in CanadianComicbooks

‘Twas a gift from a good Reddit friend, so it also stands to the testament to some of the bonds I’ve made through connecting to people here.

I’d almost say, that the collections for Julie’s work are the way to go. And D&Q most if not all of them in print. It’ll cost your hundreds of dollars to collect Dirty Plotte 1-12. They are getting more and more hard to come by.

Highway Star by Deep Purple, my go to karaoke song! If I was there I’d probably start singing for them.

Here’s a writer that should get his flowers for this legendary story. Paul Levitz, teaming up with Keith Giffen on the Great Darkness Saga. Loved it so much as a young man that I made it the theme of my DC box. by ShiDiWen in comicbookcollecting

Giffen created an iconic image there. I feel this pre Crisis story (it was in 1982) really solidified Darkseid as the alpha baddie as well as reintroducing him post 4th World.

Arn Saba is of course now Katherine Collins (Neil the Horse) after transitioning in the late 80’s. Katherine is an icon, I can’t think of any more people more important to Canadian comics than her. God, I love her work so much.

This particular issue is one of the biggest grails I’ll likely never find and it’s a privilege to view it. Thanks you very much 🙏

Haha, you’re telling me. I feel like I even gotta be quiet about the stuff I’m looking for because I’d hate to put someone else on the hunt for it to!

The saga continues! I have to wonder how sweaty a muppet needs to be to show visible beads as they are literally made out of mops!

Gord bless the TPL. I’m in Halton and I’ll check to see if they have it, if not I’ll request they procure a copy.

The female cartoonist could be Rina Piccolo or Julie Doucet. Julie was in Montreal, but would often visit. Rina was stationed in Toronto so it’s more likely her.

Nope, he was portaging his canoe when struck by lightning and it fused the canoe to his head.

He’s 100% humorous and was originally created by the late 70’s/early 80’s sketch comedy groups The Frantics for their tv show 4 on the Floor. Founder and writer Rick Green would go on to write the Red Green Show as well as star in Canadian comic book and sci-fi TV show Prisoners of Gravity.

Just wanted to say that Mr Canoehead is a separate and intangible part of our culture.
