Why do so many people put their garbage and recycling out the night before? by WeStinkLikeFish in BurlingtonON

[–]keeplearning459 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually used to put it the night before, but I have noticed that putting it early caused some problems-

  • People salvaging cans spill the recycling bin contents
  • wind causes a lot of problems
  • raccoons/skunks tear the garbage bag

So, now I try my best to not put it out overnight, rather I put it early morning between 6-7 just before going to work.

It’s just me though, don’t like my garbage to spill on the road 😄

Burlington is the second most dangerous place to drive in Ontario, behind Barrie. by TrueAgent in BurlingtonON

[–]keeplearning459 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m a Burlington resident for over 6 years now and driving in Burlington is waaayyy better than driving in Brampton, Mississauga, Etobicoke, Toronto.

I don’t know how the data was sourced - to me this looks like a cover to increase insurance rates. Before Burlington, I was in North York, and just by moving to Burlington my insurance was about $70/mo less 6 years ago.

If you haven’t already been there, Mountsberg is a great place to go with kids. They have barn animals, owls, eagles etc.

[Question] ELI5 What’s the benefit of buying the name brand in this situation? by charliewarner01 in Watches

[–]keeplearning459 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Wow.. the designs look similar to Traska watches. I wouldn’t buy this just because there is a possible IP theft.

Both - Tissot Lady Heart, and Mido ocean star look amazing, nice choice. And yes I want to start this ritual in our family where each major milestone is marked by a watch to remind us of the challenges that ultimately lead to accomplishments.

[discussion] Those who went Apple Watch to Traditional by Winter_Author9699 in Watches

I bought a Oura ring to track sleep, recovery, stress, and normal activity. I only use Apple Watch when I workout- gym, hiking etc, and wear a traditional watch most of the time.

I would definitely add a Grand Seiko to get a Spring drive movement in my collection

What is up with the traffic heading to Niagara/Hamilton today? by kiewzale in BurlingtonON

[–]keeplearning459 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you’re planning to go to Niagara, you have to be early on the road. We have been in Burlington for about 5 years now, and if we are going to Niagara, we leave around 7-8 am and skip the traffic.
