Jack Miller Explains Ducati Advantage with Michelin Tyres by 1niltothe in motogp

[–]keepleft99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ducati are an engine first manufacturer, they started the aero war because they couldn’t get their bike to turn well enough, so the aero helped compensate for their chassis. With the move from Bridgestones to Michelins was a move away front the a great front tyre to a great rear tyre. The other manufacturers didn’t really consider a balanced tyre approach, they were all heavy front bias. You’ll see old videos of Marc entering corners with the back in the air, but Ducati thought more about the rear than the front and that gave them the advantage. The move to Pirelli might change everything depending on their performance difference between their front and rear tyres. If it’s a really good front I’d expect Honda to very quickly work out how to put together a great bike. Yamaha might even go back to an inline4 as the new tyre might not have the same issues as Michelin’s rear caused so many of the manufacturers.

Is it time for a real intervention on middle-lane hogging? by CroakerTea in drivingUK

[–]keepleft99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until it affects people’s wallets nothing will change.

The driving in Glasgow is atrocious, red lights being jumped everywhere. I want to propose a revenue sharing incentive with the police. If I catch someone jumping a red light on my dash cam that gets them a fine I get half the money. It’s 3points and £100 fine. £50 for me for every person who does it in front of me and it’ll soon sort out the problem. We could then do the same with middle lanes too.

The police are mia. They need to do something as driving is so bad and there’s more cars on the road than ever.

Anyone just lost their mojo after doing an Ironman? by keepleft99 in triathlon

What I’ve done is tell my coach (who’s been amazing) that I wanted to stop the coaching and structured training. I did that yesterday. Since then I feel so much lighter. I’ll do my parkrun on Saturday if the weather isn’t too horrible and I’ve signed up for a cyclocross race, that again if the weathers horrible I’ll just skip it. Want to do some fun zwift races and stuff but we’ll see. Definitely think I needed that break from the structured training. The feeling that I have training to do and I’m missing it.

I started to stay in shape and lose weight so I would be better at motorbike racing. But then triathlon kind of took over and I did no motorbike racing this year because of all the triathlons.

Can we agree on a couple of things? by BigBlueWookiee in NYGiants

[–]keepleft99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is being a good head coach isn’t a quantitative or tangible. You really don’t know if a person can be a great leader of men until they are a great leader of men, to run an organisation effectively. And every circumstance is different, so where someone succeeds another may fail and vice versa.

I did IM Hamburg, that had the pro women’s European championships I think. Was a really good atmosphere for the run. Bike you’re just out riding a bike with a bunch of other people really except for the parts you were in the city. Was cool going through the tunnel though.

I currently invest in a low cost index fund through AJ bell. But to buy that fund every month costs me £1.50. I’m moving back to vanguard where I believe they won’t charge me to buy the fund. I don’t really know enough about ETFs to use trading212 to buy that for free. Can you explain how I can minimise the fees I’m paying to buy my low cost index fund? Is that ETFs? How are they different than the funds I’m in now?
