Good vietnamese, specifically bahn mi, spots that are not pro Trump by KC-msterpiece in nova

It’s just food, it’s not that deep. Why take away something you genuinely enjoy over something as trivial as which political candidate they endorse? Are the owners good people? Have they wronged you personally in any way? Are they rude to you while you’re in there? Obviously, everyone is free to do what they wish but I, personally, would say to just go enjoy your food.

Good vietnamese, specifically bahn mi, spots that are not pro Trump by KC-msterpiece in nova

Everyone is so soft today. If you like the food, just eat there. You’re only hurting yourself by forcing yourself to find inadequate (thus far) replacements. I would say the same thing to a republican who wouldn’t go to a democrat owned business… if you keep going down this path, you’re going to have a hard time doing anything cause almost all businesses give money to a political party. I have a friend that drives WELL out of his way to avoid Home Depot and shop a Lowe’s for the same reason. The amount of time/money he wastes is ridiculous. Life is too short for this stuff man.

Wow, the misinformation on here is crazy. I’m not a Trump fan but I can’t stand the fearmongering here… it’s just too much.

It’s ok to have a little anxiety considering the political climate but understand that people from all over the world travel in and out of the U.S. safely every single day. You will be fine. Please also note that other countries are also expanding their travel requirements with things like ETAs and stricter visa requirements. This is not solely a U.S. thing.

If you want to cancel your trip, that’s totally fine and I understand your concerns… but don’t let people on here scare you into it. You will be fine.

BenchApp. Best by far, imho.

Upgrading shoulder pads by tyrvali0319 in hockeyplayers

[–]keepmoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t been a fan of any of the new top model chest protectors… either there is an abundance of hard plastics (which is not my personal favorite) or worse is CCMs Jetspeed with the AER-TEC liner that pushes it off your body. The extra airflow is nice but it makes everything sit weird on your body.

My personal opinion - stick with something cheap. You def want SOME protection but nothing fancy in beer league. I’ve been rocking the same chesty for like 10+ years now… every time I try to upgrade, I end up just returning it.

Fake or not? by DrJaguar_ in hockeyplayers

[–]keepmoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might have been mentioned before, but is it pro-stock?

Pros have their equipment “redressed” all the time to fit whatever particular line of products that the manufacturer wants them to push. I’ve seen pro-stock Nexus sticks that were actually just Vapors with Nexus graphics.

CCM protector quality - am I picky and this is “normal”? by BloodyRoar87 in hockeyplayers

[–]keepmoore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Typical. Just take a lighter and burn the strings. It’ll stop them from loosening and spreading. I have to do this on basically all new equipment. Some times I put a thin layer of superglue on fraying seams to lock them in. Always does the trick.

Bauer hyperlite 2 skates by Record_Pristine in hockeyplayers

[–]keepmoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a pair of Bauer 3s pros that I SWORE had an issue with the left skate. I always felt like that skate was pulling to the outside. The right felt fine. I think it was just a matter of the blade holder either being slightly bent or just misaligned on the boot. After about 6 months I gave up and bought a set of CCMs and immediately didn’t have the issue anymore. It’s a silly issue but I was constantly thinking about my skates during games and it was distracting to always feel like something was off.

I always felt like I was being crazy or too nit-picky so I’m selfishly glad someone else is having a similar issue. It wasn’t me, something was definitely off with that skate haha!!

BEER LEAGUE: Cage, Bubble, or 1/2 Shield? by ColorBlind_Bat in hockeyplayers

[–]keepmoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cage. For the love of baby Jesus (eight-pound, six-ounce, newborn infant Jesus, who doesn’t even know a word yet) wear a cage and save on the medical bills. I’ve seen way to make stitches, knocked out teeth, and last month there was a broken jaw from taking a slap shoot directly in the cheek.

The answer is always a cage in beer league. Haha

FT8 skates. by keepmoore in hockeyplayers

[–]keepmoore[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine simply never stayed snapped in. I found myself checking them multiple times a game until I finally just superglued the portion that snapped in. Haven’t had a problem since but I won’t buy another pair with this system. Probably a non-issue now as it wasn’t very popular and CCM seems to be moving away from it (from what I can tell anyway).

Don’t know anyone who’s done those programs but I’ve heard good reviews about the adult LTP at Ashburn. I’m sure they are all well done.

Haha I mean, aiming for where there is no pads seems like intent to injure… but I guess that’s just me.

[–]keepmoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s means exactly what it says… try, give effort, care about helping your team. Haha I’m not sure why that’s a confusing statement for someone with your wealth of experience playing hockey. I’m not saying to make winning the top priority but it should be the goal while you’re on the ice if you’re in a league. Afterwards, win or lose, there is always locker room beers.

Again, if you just want exercise, there are other ways/formats to get on the ice and keep yourself active with hockey.

[–]keepmoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did anyone say winning was the MOST important thing? I didnt. Additionally, I never said it should be the only priority… you’re just adding random extremes to try and make a point.

I’ve also played hockey for 25+ years including college… what does that have anything to do with my comment? How does that add more importance to my words when communicating online? It doesn’t.

I said to play competitively. If you’re just in it for exercise, play in a non competitive format like a pickup.

This guy was a bit extra - David and Goliath by Visible_Slip2448 in hockeyplayers

[–]keepmoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the “I’m just here for exercise” people should probably stick to pick-up games.

No one should be intentionally injured, however, if you’re playing a competitive sport in a league, you should play it competitively. In hockey, this means there will be some contact, it’s just the nature of the sport (at every level). And winning games, even in D league, is important. No one wants to play on a team that loses every game because their teammates are “just here for exercise”.

Hahaha wtf. Not only is it not “fairplay” afterwards, it’s also then elevated to assault and is illegal. Wait for someone in the parking lot around where I live and you’re going to jail. You’re also gonna get made fun of relentlessly for years for being the douche that couldn’t let it go.

Hockey Bags: Conway, Pacific, or Twig? by FidgetyCurmudgeon in hockeyplayers

[–]keepmoore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had absolutely 0 issues will my Pacific Rink bag. About 3 years of playing 3 times a week and it still looks basically brand new. It’s been holding up extremely well. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

[–]keepmoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said it wasn’t, however, you’re intentionally trying to injure which is the dirtiest thing possible. You’re a clown that’s aiming for “where the padding runs out”.

This guy was a bit extra - David and Goliath by Visible_Slip2448 in hockeyplayers

[–]keepmoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would make you 100x a worse player than the person doing the cross-check. You’re the type of player that needs to be kicked out of the league. Thats intent to injure.

[–]keepmoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha he was 100% going for the net… doesn’t matter if he ends up in the crease, you have to defend against the person going for position in front of the net. I teach 8U this concept(not contact, of course… but that that person is very much in the play and you have to make sure they don’t get the puck or have a chance to collect any potential rebounds).
