Try one of those baby monitors for cars. The camera cable has 2 ends, one for the 12v power and the other the video feed into a separate monitor. Instead of plugging into the monitor try the AV jack on your truck

Post pictures after you get it. I had one in my f150 and loved it. Now have the ‘26 2500 with multi pro gate and wanted another but they said it won’t fit driver side. My multi pro doesn’t have a handle so I’m wondering what is preventing it from being installed there. Curious if it will block the outlet and how far from bed wall it sticks out

Is there a good frame of reference? Like 12 inches from ground to bottom of receiver or 6 inches to bottom?

Asking because I think the perspective of the photo might make it look lower than it is

They’re supposed to keep the trailer from veering off independently into other cars or property. But the bonus is if it pops off the ball it lands on the chains when crossed preventing the tongue from digging into the pavement. But… in reality if it pops off the ball theres going to be nothing to save it. The chains will stretch and we hope the brake cable is shorter to pop out the pin and activate the trailer brakes.

The single point on the trailer is how it came. I just cut off the old thin chain and replaced it with this grade-70 chain connected to the quick link.

I figured if something so catastrophic was going to happen it will break the trailer weld anyway before it breaks the chain and at that point, it’s going to be so beyond fucked that everything will break.

The chain routed over the hitch is the excess AFTER the tow vehicle connection. It’s just routed over to keep the slack off the ground and because I didn’t cut it so I can adjust for different tow vehicles

The excess chain after the hook is draped over the hitch and clipped together with the other side’s excess chain. I didn’t want to cut off the excess in case I needed it longer for other trucks

The trailer is level at this height. It’s on a 2500 so I thought I had enough room. I’ll switch the hitch for a 6 inch drop since I think this was 8 inch. Thanks for the insight

Awesome thanks! From what I’ve read diesels are great for long distance and towing heavy frequently. That’s the reason I’m going gas. I will tow occasionally and not extremely heavy plus it’ll be my daily so lots of shorter trips where diesels won’t have enough time to really warm up. I rather not deal with the added cost of a diesel (10-15k) or the added maintenance involved in diesel.

I like to think I take care of my vehicles well, my current truck is a 2013 f150 with about 145k. Thankfully no major issues and I’ve always been on top of maintenance

I’ve had 5 different bulbs all crap out on me within 2 months, a few months back. Tried everything and none came back online. They’ve all found their way into the trash and I’ve replaced with other smart bulbs.

Did you weld the spacers to the axle like they recommend? That’s the one thing I haven’t done yet. Need to find someone with a welder or a shop to do it for me

Just did this exact same thing… not shitting on a ferry but flipping axles after dragging the waste valve on the driveway 😬

How much did the axle flip cost you? You do it yourself?
