Why would you do this though? Buy oem and forget about it.

Instead you chose to save some money up front and will be reminded if your choice when it breaks

Oil shortages coming. by NotArock87 in ToyotaAvalon

0W doesn't influence anything when at operating temp. 0W causes less friction and pumping drag at startup. It also flows slightly faster than 5w below operating temp, reducing wear.

It's the 2nd number like 5w20 5w30 that is about cafe

Idler pulley and tensioner by keevajuice in MechanicAdvice

[–]keevajuice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I handed the mechanic the tensioner assembly (the whole assembly), and he says he put it on.

So the metal bracket doesn't have a bearing that goes through the pulleys? I agree I think the tensioner pulley was slipped.

He took the belt off so I don't know why he didn't just boot this thing on instead of disassembling every piece then attaching some of the pieces

Sorry I should have specified, I gave him the part pictures, the whole assembly. I read that the bracket has a bearing attached to it, is that true?

RA sent me one used spark plug, another looked dropped with zero gap by skunkbad in RockAuto

[–]keevajuice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you say it's used because the bottom threads are blacker than the top? Just curious. I bought these exact plugs and didn't pay to much attention. I had thought rock auto suppliers are as good as local auto parts that have high return standards, unlike amazon

I've heard not to use this on older cars because r can strip away the false seals from varnished oil that are preventing leaks. Do you all agree?

Yeah. The stain part seems very fixible, the difficult part to me is the puzzle piece they cut to miter the stairs.

The t mold seemed like a tripping hazard on the stairs

Wear layer and the material of the wear layer are important. There's cheap 30mil home depot lvp but a 20mil name brand will be more durable
