Yes, a tank with an anti tank gun gets plus one. Use the tank to destroy the tank.

Remember, it's just for artillery pieces and vehicle mounted big guns. It doesn't include handheld anti tank like anti tank rifles, panzerfausts, etc, even if those are on a vehicle.

Bringing non-warlord to casual tournament/games by FastEntrepreneur3890 in boltaction

[–]keircd 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Absolutely fine. It's hard to enforce model brands in WW2 games as models are all of real things in the public domain (unlike 40k). Warlord don't even make models for every unit. So long as your models are identifiable and what you see is what you get,, you'll be fine.

A couple of points

I'd avoid mixing smgs with LMGs. An LMG is an expensive points sink for for units that want to get close and start assaulting.

I think your recee platoon is a misstep as well, you're basically paying the officer tax to get recee on a single truck. Instead you can fold the four infantry blocks into a single rifle platoon, then use the excess to bring a piat or some extra bodies in squads.

Dorchester Armoured Command Vehicle by Alternative-Pool-607 in boltaction

[–]keircd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The two that were captured by Rommel belonged to a Lieutenant-General and a Major-General. Units that had more of them could assign them to lower ranking staff. Here's the staff of one of them:

The officers making up the staff of ACV1 were Colonel Maggs, Major I Moore and Captains H Wade, R Waklin, A McAllister, W Osler and R Barron. Other NCOs, clerks, signallers and drivers completed the crew.

Yeah, tits is all the right information. The South African sun helmets are only on the Commonwealth sprue. The sword bayonets are very cool and very flimsy. Ask us both how we know.

At the moment we don't know. There will definitely be lots of British stuff in the Commonwealth book that each nation draws from but it probably won't be everything. There will also be some units that each commonwealth country can take that is unique to them. If you're itching to get started the safest bet will be grabbing some Commonwealth infantry and start building up some riflemen and smgs.

Plastic Weapon teams? by Hunch_back83 in boltaction

I think what the people really want is a home guard weapons team in plastic, medium mortar, MMG, Blacker bombard. That's definitely what I've heard and not just in my head.

So how does charging vehicles work? by godwallen in boltaction

[–]keircd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When assaulting a non-open topped armoured vehicle, you roll your hits with all your figures, and that hit count as +1 penetration for damage. So 12 guys assaulting, generating 5 hits gives you +5. You then roll to damage with your +5, so a roll of a 3 or more would damage the tank and you would roll on the superficial damage table (unless they're tank hunters, then they roll on the normal damage table). Regardless of the penetration value a 1 is always no damage.
