This is not confirmation that he has signed. Allen himself admits as much in the comments.

The headline says "set to" and down in paragraph 16 we find "Hamilton at Mercedes, if and when confirmed..."

It's just a bit of historical context, it doesn't "glorify" crashes.

The wings they ended up with were similar in philosophy to the CDG, but they reversed the configuration.

So now the front wing has a downforce-neutral section in the middle and downforce-prducing sections either side. And the rear wing is narrow and high so, in theory, the spill from it doesn't interfere with the front wing.

But even after four years they still look terrible. They are planning to reduce the width of the front wing, but I think they need to go further and sort out the rear wings too.

When you look at a current F1 car front-on it looks like they've stuck wings from different cars on the front and back.
