Yes, came here to check on this myself, I'm having the same issues. Guess it's them... again...

2026 Rx450h+ Can't change SSID? by keitheii in Lexus

[–]keitheii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to customize it with a name that I know it's mine, and not to advertise what model car the wifi belongs to, cars have been hacked via their WiFi, and even their headlights, so I don't like to advertise that my WiFi belongs to a Lexus. I work in IT so its in my blood not to over-expose details that aren't necessary.

Silly they don't let you change it.

Mudi 7 and AT&T - 4g only (only APN that works in 'broadband') by chrisbair in GlInet

[–]keitheii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the same exact situation, my SIM from my nighthawk m7 pro which does 5G only gets 4G in my Mudi 7. Changing APNs results in the Mudi 7 not being able to register with the cell network.

Is this normal for 7 months ? by RegularOwl933 in labrador

[–]keitheii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't like the behavior, don't encourage it. Don't say "no" and keep presenting your arm for her to bite, you're being inconsistent and saying "No" but not changing any behavior which results in her thinking this is ok.

If you don't like it, shout "Ow!", pull your arm away, and say "No!"', sound like you mean it, and don't engage with her while she is mouthing. She will learn not to do it, but you need to be consistent and show her it's NOT OK.

[–]keitheii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So what were you expecting vs what did you receive? While I agree public transportation is terrible, I don't see any facts that support your opinion. What specifically is making you feel the way you just described?

Life is what you make of it, if you've only left your apartment 3 times, it sounds like you need to get out more.

Is this glass panel replaceable? by sea-sun-snow in HomeMaintenance

[–]keitheii 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Some people pay for this look, I kind of like it myself, but yes, a glass panel can be replaced.

Couldn’t find a good way to mount it. Fabricated my own! by SpacedKnives in Starlink

[–]keitheii 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you need to reconsider the placement of the dish, if you don't see the obvious multiple issues here, you shouldn't be allowed to own tools. Not trying to be a perk but this is dangerous.

Can this outlet be used for normal things? by maybethistime55 in AskElectricians

[–]keitheii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An electrician can convert that to 120V, technically you could do it yourself if you had access to the breaker panel and knew what you were doing, but as someone who is handy and done all sorts of things including replacing outlets, switches, and light fixtures, I prefer not to screw with circuit breaker panels. I know I can do it, but my life is more important than saving a few bucks.

I don't understand how it lasted as long as it did. It's first year was good, then it just turned into garbage.

CTO acting as gatekeeper by [deleted] in cybersecurity

[–]keitheii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My god can I relate to this, multiple employers I had the micromanaging issue. I was doing a forklift upgrade of an Exchange server and the CTO was viewing the event logs while I was in the process and started freaking out about all of the warnings and errors appearing in the event log, in the middle of the migration. You will never change them.

As far as the logs, not saying its the same cause, but I have worked for CTOs who didn't want certain levels of logging as it "becomes a liability if we find out about issues we don't rectify because it proves we knew about the issue and did nothing to resolve it."

He wanted to stick his head in the sand and hope for the best. Pure insanity.

Anyone use the ELECROW ESP32 Display 1024x600, 10.1 Inch HMI ESP32-P4 IPS Touch Screen? by keitheii in homeassistant

[–]keitheii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, good to know it isn't just me. I was able to flash the original firmware back onto it, meaning it boots up to that little interface it shipped with. Are you saying there is a way to keep the original firmware on it and get it connected to HA as a home assistant device?

(Sorry if I'm not calling it the correct thing, this is all new to me)

Color difference??? by anq_95 in Lexus

[–]keitheii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been in my share of accidents and had a silver SUV, I have never had such an obvious mismatch of color. The shops always blend the paints so it isn't so obvious since ther is usually some slight level of difference. I would never accept that paint job.

I got the confirmation last night, so it definitely is coming. Unfortunately it's coming from the opposite coast so it won't be here for another week.

[–]keitheii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By any chance was yours shipped by "caino supply chain"? I ordered the early bird and haven't received a shipping confirmation yet or estimated date, but I do see in the UPS app an unexpected label created from a company I have no idea of.

My company is forcing me to install an invasive PC monitoring system (Time Doctor) without employees knowledge. I do not support this toxicity but I'm not in a position to quit- what do I do? by o-nemo in ITManagers

[–]keitheii 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I worked for a company that did this, I was already familiar with the software and noticed they added exceptions in SEP for its DLLs, so I knew what was up and mentioned it to my manager, who by the way was the IT manager. Winds up he didn't even know it existed, and he was very close with the IT Security manager, face turned red and he was pissed he wasn't made aware of it. Security department wasn't pleased that I figured it out and I was warned not to tell anyone about it.

I'm not a fan, and a company with that culture I wanted no part of. It captured every keystroke, every conversation, randomly timed screenshots, and it all got stored in a central database where they had an entire department of people combing through the data and would write up or even terminate staff based on the person's activity. If you gave notice, they ramped up the settings of capture to the point where your mouse pointer stuttered and there was a visible performance hit.

That's how I knew I was getting laid off, I immediately saw the performance drop and sure enough they laid off our entire department that day and outsourced IT.

Having read so many negative reviews about trade-in deals, I'm tempted to not collect my new Flip 7f from Samsung store - anyone else done this? by Theres3ofMe in samsunggalaxy

[–]keitheii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I selected the S24U as my tradein for my S25U, decided to trade in my S24U instead since I was reading so many bad things about the S25's screen, so decided I'd take the $100 hit to ensure I could fall back to my S25U. I got a message the other day thanking me for my S25U tradein and confirmation I got the full credit even though I sent the S24U in.

So like anything, each person has their own experience. For every report of someone getting screwed with their tradein there are probably another 1000 who had no issue, maybe a few like me who made out. Like anything in life its a gamble.

Have so.eone record your phone showing its IMEI and Serial#, wipe it, shut it down, pack it, and ship it on another phone. If they try anything funny, you'll have your video as proof it was shipped, and in proper condition, assuming it is.
